Funcionamiento familiar real e ideal según el modelo Circumplejo de Olson

The family is the institution that fulfills one of the most important roles of the psychosocial development of its members, in which they transmit ethical and cultural values. This research aimed to determine the family functioning according to the Olson Circumplex Model in basic education students of an educational institution of the city of Cuenca, through the perception of their parents in the components of cohesion and adaptability from a real and ideal perceptual vision. A quantitative methodology was used in a cross-sectional descriptive study. One hundred and fifty-three parents, academic representatives of students from the first to the seventh year of basic education participated in this study, who were evaluated through the Family Scale (FACES III). The results showed in Adaptability an average of 29.4 according to the perception of the evaluated, with family significance Chaotic. In cohesion parents are perceived on average 39.5 as United families. Finally, the predominant type of family from a real perception of those evaluated in the "Chaotic-United" in 26.1%, in the ideal scope predominates "Chaotic-entangled" with 31.4%.
