Men of WRATH #2

Acts of Salvation

Rate this book
Ren Moretti

I’ve lived my entire life to the beat of one simple motto.

Work hard to play hard.

A no brainer, really.

As one of five partners to a nationwide security firm, I do whatever it takes to get the job done, making sure to reward myself with whatever the hell I want.

Sure, the job comes with its own set of dangers—but none of the bullets or knives come close to the peril of one alluring young woman.

Casandra Martinez—my little angel—is a risk all on her own.

Turning my world from black and white to vibrant; she’s a sensory overload and far from simple.

But the biggest problem is far worse than just a kink in my routine.

No. She’s off limits. Forbidden.

Unwilling to heed the warning, I’m drawn to her light.

And like a moth to the flame, I fall.

Only one question remains…

Will her love be my salvation or my demise?

Acts of Salvation is book two in the Men of WRATH series but could be read as a Standalone. WARNING (OR INVITATION): AOS contains mature language and gasp-worthy scenes.

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
This is book two in the Men of WRATH series. It’s a standalone, but I’d recommend you read the previous book because you get the full experience like that. It all revolves around one company.

Acts of Salvation is my second read of Eleanor Aldrick, and it was spectacular. I loved seeing the author’s growth in her skills from book one to book two. Although the start was a tiny bit rushed for me (just the first 10%), the rest of the book was superbly enjoyable. I related and connected to the Cassie. She was a badass! I felt for her struggles. Family certainly isn’t easy, and I know exactly how that feels. She was my favorite in the book. Ren was a hot dude. How else can I describe him? LOL. He wasn’t easy to see through at the beginning, but in the end, he opened up . His heart was in the right place. Both leads have their emotional issues, and it was quite fitting to watch them evolve together. Also, as we neared the end, the characters went on a little adventure, and it was so exhilarating. Can we also talk about the cover? Or the promotional images? Eleanor slays them every time. I recommend this to Sinatra fans, lovers of protective men, and badass leading ladies.

ORIGINAL COMMENT
One night stand from two people with serious attachment issues turns into an adventurous and tender love story. The author has evolved from her debut. Lovely characters in a fast paced story. Nice action at the end. Easy to read.

It’s my second book baby and I love it. Of course I’m going to give it a glowing five star review. Especially to help counter the trolls who gave it one star before the book was even released to ARC readers. ::rolling eyes::

AOS is a forbidden romance with a little bit of action and suspense. It follows Cassie and Ren’s story and I’m so excited to share their love with you. It’s raw, real, and everything I could of hoped for in a romance novel.

Can’t wait to hear/read what you think!

Acts of Salvation
Men of Wrath Series
Book Two
by Eleanor Aldrick

This book is a completely separate couple from book one. It’s Ren and Cassie’s story and I loved it. I was given an early copy of this book so that I could objectively read and find plot holes or anything that needs to be tightened up but I can say with complete and total honestly that this book is absolutely perfect.

Ren and Cassie’s story has just about everything my little heart desires.
Hot steamy alpha man
Sexy and feisty independent woman
It has the perfect age gap and their steamy scenes. But the best thing about it is the twists and turns. The suspense gripped me and I devoured the book.
And the tearful scenes... my heart cracked open!

Throughout Eleanor’s writing process is was privy to snippets of the storyline but reading it all together... yeah, I fell hard.
Ren is daddy. All the way. He knows what he wants and he takes it. And Cassie? *wipes drool* she’s a spicy Latina with the sexiest vibes ever.

I loved every minute of it and I’m excited to see who the readers think the villain is! I thought I figured it out about 60% in but color me shocked, babes!
Absolutely amazing work, Eleanor! You did perfect.

Can I say, first and foremost, that I feel like the use of the surname Moretti has reached its limit. Can we please get a book where the male character does Not have the name Moretti please and thank you. So many books lately have had the same surname and I’d love to see something different.
.
Rant aside. I enjoyed this. This is a new to me author and going into it I had no idea what the story was about so when I got stuck into it I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this. We go through the journey of following Ren and Cassie as they come together in a One-Night stand only to turn the story around and it becomes a tender, heartwarming story of two souls coming together. Their connection was undeniable, chemistry was sizzling which left the pages scorching.
.
Both characters have commitment issues based on past traumas and experiences so watching their relationship develop had me in awe. To me, this book is the definition of HEA. The plot was great, original and a page turner. It had the perfect balance of tension, anticipation and drama. The details have you transported into this world and gives a whole new experience to reading the book.
.
I didn’t expect the level of emotion to come out of this book. When I first started reading I thought it was going to be a fluffy romance but it’s not, it had an element of realism which I enjoyed. I’m looking forward to exploring lore from this author.

Ren and Cassie— all the steamy goodness!

I totally get Cassie—she, like many women, is hesitant to consider love because the last thing she wants to be is wrapped around a man’s finger.

Ren enjoys the single life and his choice of beautiful women. In other words? Every man’s dream.

Neither one want love, but they sure as hell get it when they meet. I love the slow-burn of the story, the characters fighting themselves (and each other) with regards to their feelings.

The plot has more twists than a rollercoaster, and the characters are so vividly real, that you’re invested by the end of the prologue—Eleanor Aldrick is that good. She creates characters that leap off the page, holding you long past when their story ends.

I loved this book. Highly recommend it, and can’t wait for the next one!

This is a hot steamy read with an alpha hero and a feisty heroine!
It was the perfect read for my Sunday afternoon, a great way to relax before another exhausting week! I love age gap romance, it's one of my favorite tropes and Ren and Cassie's story delivered all the things I like! Cassie is a sweet and strong girl with a lot of baggage and Ren is the perfect guy, a man mature enough to know how to take care of her! There is a perfect chemistry between them and I loved the dose of suspense!!

4.25 ⭐️ Absolutely adored Ren & his little angel Cassie! 🥹

Loved Ren so much in book one just by how protective he was of Bella and this book just made me love him even more! Relationships were never his thing and he had abandonment issues stemming from his mother but he still managed to put his heart on the line time and time again for Cassie. He wanted her so badly but knew she was a little skittish so he tried his best not to overwhelm her. His friendship with William and the rest of the men of WRATH and the way he always looked out for his niece and nephews was so precious 🥺 He’s definitely my favourite character of the series 🖤

Cassie was such an amazing daughter, sister and friend. Always making sure all of the people she cared about were taken care of. Because of her parents toxic relationship, she vowed never to fall in love and become “dick whipped” 😂 but she found herself falling for Ren 🥰 He was extremely protective of her but she wasn’t a damsel in distress. She knew how to take care of herself, she took up self defence classes and knew how to work a mace can 😌 Loved their chemistry and even though she hurt him pushed him away a few times, I really appreciated the fact that she could apologise instead of digging in her heels. The epilogue was so damn sweet too 🥹 Loved how it mirrored William & Bella’s 😂

Also have to say that for the majority of the book it was a real toss up for me between the three “suspects” who was behind the personal attack on Cassie. I had a few theories and kept switching as the story went on but really enjoyed the outcome 🙌🏽

My excitement level for Titus & Ashley’s book is at an all time high now! I know I have to read Aiden’s book first but I need their story so badly 😫

A gripping, page-turning age-gap romance I couldn't put down.

Cassie has sworn off men and has every excuse to not fall in love with Ren, her best friend's uncle. But he's absolutely charming and protective, and sexy as hell. How can she not fall for him?

A psychotic stalker comes into the picture, and Ren's alpha male protective side goes into overdrive. If you love romantic suspense with dark twists, you'll love this beautifully crafted story.

Side note: I also enjoyed how the author weaved in the storyline from AOS, Book #1 of the Men of WRATH series. It was fun to see how Bella's story transpired from Cassie's point-of-view in the periphery.

Like red on a rose, this is where I belong.

Not as good or as interesting as book 1. And unfortunately I didn't like Ren all that much. I wanted to, but God, it was hard. Although he redeemed himself at some point, there's no forgetting how he behaved in the past.
I also wanted to see how he dealt with the Becca problem but there's no mention. I hate it when one of the villains (although she wasn't an actual villain) don't get what they deserve.

3.80 stars⭐

The story is fast paced which i read in 1 day and half. The theme of book are age-gap and forbidden, which the hero and heroine age gap more than 10years. I like this book and Ren, He is caring, protective and never force Cassie to commit. I expect there will be action in this, it does but just a little bit of it. I rate this book 3.8 stars because the plot feel rush and i need more about Ren and Cassie.

This is book two of the Men of Wrath series, and even though it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend you read book one first, because that storyline runs parallel with this one.

This book is about Cassie and Ren’s story. A forbidden age-gap romance story that should never have happened, but it did, and it ends up being something really special and beautiful!

There’s soooo much to love about this book. Firstly, the book cover is gorgeous!!! Eleanor has put a lot of effort in making this book look amazing and the formatting inside is outstanding!
Secondly, our leading female character is a badass! She’s a strong, determined and independent woman, who knows exactly what she wants from life. She is also very adamant that she will never allow herself to ever falling in love... because love turns you into a stupid, weak fool... and she’s nobody’s fool!

Ren is Cassie’s best friend’s (Bella) uncle and is one of the owners of WRATH security. He’s a self professed eternal bachelor (an extremely good looking and fit looking player), and at the age of 32 has never shown any interest in having a serious relationship with a woman. But things change when he first lays his eyes on Cassie and the sexual chemistry between them is so apparent to everyone around them.

This is a great follow on to book one. The storyline is great, fast paced and action packed. I love Cassie’s friendship with Bella and that they always have each other’s back. Ren is a great guy. He’s your typical alpha male - hot, sexy and protective, especially towards Cassie. As I’ve mentioned before, the sexual chemistry between the two of them is off the charts HOT 🔥🔥🔥 and the sex scenes 🥵... (fanning myself!!). If this sound like something you’re interested in reading, then do yourself a favour and download this book and the first book, Acts of Atonement. You won’t regret it! Looking forward to Book Three!

This is the second in the Men of WRATH series.
It can be read standalone.

This story is an age gap romance ( one of my fave troupes) about Cassie, a young personal stylist and her falling for her best friends uncle, Ren who is about 15 years her senior.

Both aren't interested in love at first, Cassie simply is attracted to Ren and at first it's a basic hookup. But you slowly see them healing for each other throughout the book. It has lots of twists and turns, enough to keep your attention.

I didn't want to put it down! I basically read about 90% of it in one sitting!

I would definitely recommend this for those age gap fans!

I would like to thank the author for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book can be read as a standalone, but will make much more sense if you read Acts of Atonement first. The timeline in Salvation is running nearly concurrently with Atonement. Ren is a partner in a security firm, the R in WRATH. Cassie is a personal shopper/stylist, and the best friend of Ren's niece. They're both against relationships and marriage, due to their family situations. Until they meet. And then meet again. Considering their age difference, Cassie is quite mature, just feisty enough that she can hold her own against Ren's strong personality. I love Ren - the perfect balance between sweet and alpha. And they are smokin' hot as a couple. Besides this terrific romance, there are some twists and turns, leading to suspense and surprises. I'm so looking forward to the next book...

Acts of Salvation by Eleanor Aldrick. This is Men of WRATH Book two and while it can be read as a standalone, I recommend you read book one first. Not only is it a good story but it also gives you background on characters and how they intertwine. Ren is Bella’s uncle and Bella is Cassie’s BFF. Boy oh boy- once Ren connects the dots…things are about to heat up. This is a great age gap contemporary romance with a touch of suspense, action, and plenty of passion to keep you warm at night. I found this to be an enjoyable and steamy story with great character cast. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is the second book in the Men of Wrath series and the second I have read by Eleanor. I loved the story between Cassie and Ren. They are great characters together. He is an older, sexy, alpha type man. She is a woman who is smart, witty and not afraid to stand up to him. This book is full of drama, suspense, a few twists and some high heat. The storyline pulls you in but the characters keep you from putting the book down. I look forward to the next book from Eleanor

🖤📖BOOK REVIEW📖🖤
ACTS OF SALVATION by @eleanoraldrick is the second book in the Men of WRATH series, and guys, it’s super hot! 🔥Eleanor Aldrick is sinfully talented woman, and honestly one of the best debut authors I came across in 2020 🖤
Cassie and Ren’s story is passionate, hot, and captivating from the first page. One night stand is all they were meant to be, but as the days went by, neither of them could forget about the night they shared. Cassie runs away from love, relationships aren’t her thing. Having her mother’s relationship as an example, she’s sworn to be nothing like her. From the early age she took care of herself, keeping men at bay, protecting her heart. Until Ren. They shared a magical night and weren’t supposed see each other again. Until they did, and things got even more complicated. Ren turned out to be her best friend’s uncle, on top of that over ten years her senior. Despite their efforts to stay away from each other, they couldn’t deny the connection between them.
This story is beautiful, sinfully sexy, and suspenseful. I loved how their relationship progressed, how they fought their feelings, and most importantly how they couldn’t let go. The plot is amazing, the chemistry between the characters sets the pages on fire.
It’s not often that I read a series where the action of both books takes place in the same time, but Eleanor nailed it, matching events and timeline in both stories. This book is a must read! But make sure you read Acts of Atonement prior to avoid spoilers 🖤

**Pretty much all spoilers below**

Pretty much how I felt the whole time. Ren was super freaked out when he first figured out Cassie's age but then seemed to forget about it instantly. What was the point of even making it an issue if it didn't matter anyway? The stalker stuff with Ren's niece/Cassie' BFF seemed to come out of nowhere and didn't really make sense to me. The niece's dad getting shot. Again, what was the point? It added nothing to the story! Cassie getting kidnapped, being "dead" for like a beat and then coming to was just weird. That whole thing with the doctor could have been an interesting twist, but took a stupid, out of left field turn that was over in a few pages. And we never see the issues with Ren's secretary resolved!! The secretary stirs the pot on more than one occasion, finally crosses a line, will apparently be dealt with.....and then nothing. We get no resolution with that! Literally nothing happens!

I know this is supposed to be a quick, stand-alone read but there just wasn't any substance. Too many holes. Pick 1 or 2 sub-plots and make them good! I would have loved reading about the jealous secretary and pervy doctor, if done right. Drop everything with the niece, except as Cassie's BFF bc her side story added nothing to the book. Wasn't enjoyable and won't be reading anymore in the series.

Alpha male, barely legal girl, age gap

Acts of Salvation
By Eleanor Aldrick

I had never heard of this author and the series before, but she was recommended to me. I wound up with Acts of Salvation because it was priced low enough I could afford it with minimal saving. Not sure if buy more at full price though.

Overall, it's an ok story. It's not a hard read and I was able to finish it in a few hours.  There were things brought up here and there that made me feel like I was missing pieces of a bigger story. Maybe if I had read book one parts would have felt more coherent and smoother. I don't know. There are a lot of characters to keep straight, which for a series obviously leads to more stories. But it also made it hard to keep everyone and their relationships straight. There are a lot of older men with barely legal girls, so if your not into age gaps, definitely stay away. I appreciated the MC Cassie's constant screwing up and running away instead of trying to work out the issues with Ren. It was real. There were a few plot holes that left me annoyed. I'm also not a fan of a dual single POV, which due to formating was harder to keep up with. Minor issues. The twists at the end were a little predictable but she did a great job of making it open so you weren't sure who exactly would be the bad guy.

Overall, it was an alright story. I've gotten another in the series that was on sale. I might read it to kill time. Can't say I'm a huge fan, but Ms. Aldrick has created a big world that I'm sure many romance readers would love to dive into.

Ren Moretti is the kind of man that doesn't do forever's, he prefers to keep his entanglements with women string-free and one night only. At the age of thirty-two he's perfect happy rolling through life on a solo path, he's free to roam as he pleases, and answers to no one but himself. But then an angel wanders onto his world and completely disrupts it.

Knowing Cassie's life is in danger leaves Ren more than a little rattled, and it stirs up his need to be her sole protector. He isn't about to let danger touch her, even if it means keeping her by his side always.

Acts of Salvation is a action-packed romance that will have on edge one moment and weak in the knees the next. There is a lot to be discovered between the pages of this one, with danger lurking and Cassie it's target, Ren feels like it's his job to keep her safe. But between dodging said danger, and trying to fight their attraction to one another these two start to fall in love. And love and forever isn't something either of them willingly do!

I thoroughly enjoyed diving back into the Men of Wrath world and getting a closer glimpse at another one of it's fearless protectors. This one had bits of everything to keep my eyes glued to the pages, it was the perfect romantic suspense! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

This is the second in the Men of WRATH series.
It can be read standalone.

This story is an age gap romance about Cassie, a young personal stylist and her falling for her best friend’s uncle, Ren. There is an age difference of about about 15 years.

Neither Cassie or Ren are looking for love or romance. Both have so many hang ups because of their upbringing.
Cassie simply is attracted to Ren and for her it is hookup. Ren who is the king of one nighters is drawn to Cassie in a way her never has been to another women. She continues to try and keep him at arm’s length but he just pushed right past all her hang ups and protest. He shows her the value in love and acceptance and letting someone else be there for you.

If you like an age gap this is a great story! This was a solid 4 read. It did have some editing issues.

My only complaints in the story was some of the storyline choices. We see that Cassie’s issues stem from her father’s treatment of her mother, I would have liked some kind conclusion or confrontations with that. It was thrown in there, but we never did anything with it. My other issue is at the beginning of the story it is Cassie and her 4 sisters, at one point in the book the author mentions a brother. It is unclear if this is an edit mistake or if she has a brother. It just was annoying for me.

****This may have triggers: talks about dismemberment, affairs, murder...**** Bella lived through the worst night, of her life. After just celebrating one of her, highest nights. She lives through a car accident, where she has to watch her mom pass away. The guilt of arguing with her mom right before, it is killing her. At fifteen her world is turned upside down. Her father, Aiden is co-owner along with, William of Wrath Security. So, with him being gone a lot of the time for work got worse after her mother’s death. Now, she became everything to her twin brothers, Matt & Max. To add to the mix for her, her dad volunteers her to be the nanny, for William’s one-year-old daughter, Harper for the summer. Why? Because his ex-one, day decided she was over, being a wife, and mother. Only she neglected, to tell anyone. So, no one was there to pick up, Harper. Bella wanted to have a meltdown. How was she going to work for, William without declaring her undying, love for him? Although she knew she needed to for, Harper. Don't think it didn't go unnoticed by, William that, Bella had grown up, and matured into a woman, in the last three years. I loved the angst, the mystery, the suspense, the sexual turmoil, and love, plus more. I love the characters they are real. They react like you would expect real people to react to any type of various news. It grabs you and you’re hooked.

ACTS OF SALVATION by Eleanor Aldrick is book 2 in the MEN OF WRATH. All books in the series have in common that they are age-gap romances. What to expect other than that: best friend's uncle/niece's best friend, alpha hero, feisty heroine, suspense, action, mystery, and lots of steam.

Ren and Cassie both have trauma's from their past and aren't looking for a relationship. Add Bella in, who is Cassie's best friend and Ren's niece, a relationship isn't an option. They fight their intense connection and are so fun together, I loved their banter and teasing. This is a couple that made each other stronger and better.
Cassie is strong, independent and bull-headed, she made Ren fight for it. Their constant pushing and pulling was deliciously frustrating, they just had to be honest with themself and each other.

My only complaint about this book is that I wished there were more chapters of Ren's POV. I fell hard for this man and wanted more of him.

Another entertaining story by Eleanor Aldrick, the storyline, characters, suspense, drama and spice kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
I can't wait for the next book because were already some easter eggs in this one that made me super curious.

I received an ARC from the author but am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
