Assam Public Service Commission

The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) was created in the year 1951 under a Regulation namely The Assam Public Service Commission Regulations and Limitation of functions, 1951, notified vide No GGN.57/50/66 dt. 11th Aug., 1951. Assam Combined Competitive Exam 2022-23

The Combined Competitive Examination of Assam Public Service Commissions consists of 03 (Three) main parts.

STAGES OF THE APSC EXMINATION : 

(i) The Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) : Written-test of 400 marks

(ii) The Main Examination (Written) : Written Test of 1500 marks

(iii) Interview Test : Personality test of 275 marks

SYLLABUS FOR PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

GENERAL STUDIES –

Paper – I (200 marks) – 100 Questions 

Duration: Two hours

• Current events of national and international importance.

• History of India and Indian National Movement.

• Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.

• Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues etc,

• Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.

• General issues on Environment ecology, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change- that do not require subject specialization.

• General Science.

Note : 30-35% questions in General Studies Paper I will be related to Assam. 

Paper – II (200 marks) – 80 Questions

Duration: Two hours

i. Comprehension.  

ii. Interpersonal skills including communication skills. 

iii. Logical reasoning and analytical ability. 

iv. Decision making and problem solving. 

v. General mental ability.

vi. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc.) (Class X level)

Note : Qualifying nature, shall have minimum qualifying marks of 33%
