St. Petersburg State Academy of Art and Industry named after A. L. Stieglitz (Stieglitz Academy) is one of the oldest Russian higher educational institutions that makes specialists in the field of fine, decorative and applied arts and design.
Founded in 1876 with funds donated by Baron Alexander Stieglitz.
The main building of the School of Technical Drawing of Baron Stieglitz (13 Salt Lane), designed and built in 1878-1881, was created by A. I. Krakau in collaboration with the architect R. A. Goedicke.
The neighboring building of the museum was built according to the project of the first director of this educational institution – the architect M. E. Mesmacher.

The modern exposition of the museum is a unique experience for Russia in the reconstruction of the history of art and industrial museum of the era of historicism, which brought together all the “fashionable” design trends of the late 19th century. In the museum you can see exhibitions of works by students of the school, Russian and Western European art.
A visit to the educational museum is possible only in the format of an excursion in a combined group or through an order for individual accompaniment for your group.
