Boomer (Ruthless Kings Las Vegas Chapter Book 15) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 2,516 ratings

"They are better off without you. You aren’t worthy. Leave!"

I can't get these thoughts out of my head. They run through my mind over and over on a dangerous loop.

How can I leave the club when it's my entire life?

But the MC needs me to be a man I can never be. I weaken them, and that's something I can't accept.

So, I vanish in the middle of the night. I find myself a lone rider in New Jersey, only to step into Ruthless Kings territory. But these people are far from what a Ruthless King should be.

Women are being abused, sold, and mistreated. Saving them becomes my priority.

Falling in love with one, however, isn't on my to-do list. At least, not until I meet Scarlett.

She'll see I'm worthless in time. She'll see I'm not that man she thinks I am. But I'll enjoy being with her as long as I can before it's time to move on again.

A war within yourself is the hardest to win, and my mind is my own worst enemy.

K.L. Savage is the pseudonym of two friends addicted to rough love, who decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.

They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love.

If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.

Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, adult intimate scenes and violence.

This is a MC series and contains stereotypical actions that are usually associated with the genre. This may or may not include fighting, sexual / mental assault, kidnapping, drugs, death, etc.

While this could be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend it be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and themes.

I love Boomer, maybe because he is so flawed. He may only be 20 years old, but he has been through a lot (reference the prequel and Reaper) and seen more than most people will see regardless of how long they live. This has manifested in him struggling mentally. Then he meets and rescues Scarlet and something clicks with her. Suddenly he has moments of peace and clarity.

I almost rated this story lower based on the grammatical issues. I actually made a note of them and there are a lot of them and they vary from incorrect tense, inserted words / phrases (a couple seem like they were revised and the original text not deleted), formatting issues (read through the Kindle Cloud), and incorrect version of a word (piece versus peace).

In the end I just couldn’t do it as Boomer, Scarlet, Homer and the rest of the characters tortured by the Atlantic City chapter of the Ruthless Kings. Plus who doesn’t root for the abused, tortured in mind, body and spirit, who has a chance at a HEA.

Boomer has taken off because he is having trouble keeping the voices in his head from destroying him. He finds his wa to Atlantic City he just wants some place quite and peaceful. He finds a rundown motel with a old man that owns it they make a deal that Boomer will stay and help fix the motel. But the next day Boomer find that this town is having big trouble with the Atlantic City Ruthless King charter and what they are doing is against the Ruthless Kings rules because the Las Vegas charter is the head charter and that’s where Boomer comes from. What he finds out is that this charter is dealing in women but not before they abuse them. Homer and Boomer find a women almost die at the motel and she fills them in on the rest so Boomer and the only good member of the club Wolf get the women out then friends show up to help then the boss show’s up Reaper Boomers stepdad and soon all hell will break out. So enjoy this read and see how it works out!!

Not sure why I expected not to like this one (possibly bc Boomer came off as a spoiled brat in Reaper's books) but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Love how Boomer came into his own, and began to accept his flaws and struggles. Also loved how Scarlett seemed to be his perfect match (pun definitely intended) but she did kinda piss me off when she left him... Yeah, she was angry & scared, but she knew better! I would have liked to see Boomer personally reconcile with Sarah, but it was kinda an understood that Reaper would have seen to that. I see something developing between Poodle and Melissa that I hope is explored in his book, also I don't see that there's a book for Wolf, but I'd love to read his story in the future. As far as the heart factor... just like Reaper's books, the spice was spice - ing (LOL). I'd definitely recommend this to a friend!!!!!!

Boomer is having a hard time with some things. He seems to be having mental issues and everything that has happened in the last few years is starting to get to him. It didn't help that his sister chose to be with Reaper. I am pretty sure that made things worse for him. So what does he do. He leaves!?!?!? Say what now! Like this could be really bad. However, he ends up in Atlantic City New Jersey. Only he did not realize that he ended up in Ruthless Kings territory. Only it seems that trouble finds him and he now needs to make a decision. Will he call his brothers or handle it himself. It doesn't help when he rescues Scarlet and some other women. Scarlet is frighten but she seems to see a knight in Boomer for saving her. There is something that draws them together. He seems to realize that she helps ease the crazy in his head and she seems to love the crazy. Boomer is keeping a secret and it could make or break his chances. Once you get to the end things start to blow up and you have no idea how things are going to end. It was crazy. So will Boomer get his happily ever after. Well the Ruthless Kings are definitely growing on me.

I am loving K.L. Savage! This author knows how to write flawed characters that are basically at the heart of it all, lost without their one. The road to finding them is rough but the battles are worth it in the end. Boomer, a.k.a. Jenkins, has been struggling since he was a boy. The loss of his father and the disconnect that comes and goes; with his place in the club and in his relationship with his foster father contribute to his mental discord. He cuts out in the middle of the night, knowing he needs to find where he belongs. Scarlett is about as low as a woman can get, imprisoned in the basement of an MC club that is going to sell her into slavery. If she doesn't escape, her life will be completely over. These two need each other in the worst way. The turmoil of their lives is spread out over the pages and it was awesome ride. I love all of the guys in this motley crew, scars and all; I cannot wait for their stories to be told!

Boomer doesn't feel like he can stay with the MC anymore, so he leaves to find himself. What he finds is his future and a woman and MC who will make that happen.

This book was okay, not like I thought it would be but a quick good read if you have nothing else to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dark and gritty MC read.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 26, 2021

I liked it. Boomer is a dark, gritty read and everything I enjoy in an MC romance.

I read Reapers Rise and I liked the dynamics of the club but I wasn't all that interested in where Reapers story was going to go, not being a fan of the huge age gap romance I skipped the rest of Reapers story. I was however interested in Boomers story.
The young boy who was taken in by the club following the death of his father, the boy with an urge to blow things up and set things on fire.
Boomers story takes you on the journey of how he leaves the club to find himself and in that process then finds and rescues the emprosoned girls and in addition finds love along the way. It's dynamite.

He falls hard, fast and Boom.

The plot contains sex trafficking, sexual abuse but does not go into detail, just enough to give you an idea of what the girls have been through and how Boomer discovers the rogue Ruthless MC chapter who have destroyed all moral boundaries and what their club stands for.

An enjoyable and exciting read. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
