Claiming Starlight is book one in the Kingdoms of Eldoria Trilogy. While the trilogy focuses mostly on Olivia, you will be introduced to her sister and best friend along the way. Their stories are told in books two and three. But the books' focus always revolves around Olivia. The Starlight trilogy is a mix of romantasy and paranormal worlds with a realm that includes various magical elements and creatures represented. The books are also told from several points of view. The heat level can be considered fairly high, but it's not gratuitous. The series is the classic story of good vs. evil, with lots of life's difficulties to overcome, banter, and, once you to get to book 2, the dragons, wyvern, and Pegasi arrive.

    Dex Haven’s debut novel is the telling of a young woman who was raised as a mortal in the mortal realm with no knowledge of the magic that lies within herself. That all changes when she is basically kidnapped by a sorcerer and taken to her grandmother’s kingdom in another realm where she discovers she not only has magical abilities, but she’s apparently the Chosen One spoken of in a long ago prophecy. This makes her the object of desire to the sorcerer Eldric who wants to use her for her power. But she is also the object of desire of King Cade Vesparra of the vampire kingdom who knows she is his fated mate. His only option to get to know her is to enter her dreams. They forge an intimate and loving relationship there and when the time is right he plans to bring her to his kingdom.

    This is a story of found family (some wonderful, some not so much), betrayal, and the chance at finding true love along with maybe finally finding a place to belong after a life of abuse and mistreatment by a foster care mother who seemed to hate her very existence. It’s a tale of overcoming circumstances and fighting for those you love in the process (she has a younger sister who comes into play), and finding the strength to claim your birthright. It ends on a small cliffhanger. Book 2 should be fun.

    This book grabbed me in the first chapter. It starts out meeting Olivia's parents, then Olivia's sad growing up years. And when she thinks she has a good life..bam..it really starts to get better at a rodeo...
    Please buy the book, cuddle up with a cup of tea (or a glass or two of wine) and start reading. I know that you will not want to stop reading until you finish the book, then you'll be screaming "I need more"!!!

    Wow I was super impressed from book one. Olivia is thrust into a magical world and learns that she is more important that she ever thought and so various entities want to claim her so they can use her powers for their own dubious deeds. If this is only book 1, the I can't imagine how crazy book 2 will be and now I must read it. Grab this book and add it to your collection immediately it's that good.
