Your Race at Greenwich Park on Sunday 16 January 2022, 9.30am

Hi <<First Name>>

Thank you for entering the Greenwich Park 10K.

There will be a number of COVID-safe measures in place before and during the event, which includes a main start time of 9:30am but with the start line remaining open until 9.40am for those who'd prefer a more relaxed and spacious start.

Please read all of the information here carefully to ensure you arrive at the right time and are prepared for all of the changes and health precautions.

If you have any questions that are not answered in this information, there are details of how to get in touch at the end of this email.

Please follow the event on Facebook so you can see all the pre race updates.

Before race day

Think about your training and what you should eat and drink in the 24 hours before the event. If you've not trained as well as you hoped, be prepared to take it easier, particularly for the first half of the race.

Plan your journey carefully - detailed travel information for getting to Greenwich Park is at the end of this email.

Finding us in Greenwich Park

Registration and the start / finish area is at:

The Bandstand, Great Cross Ave, Greenwich, London SE10 8QY

It is near to the Pavilion Tea House in the centre of the park.

Arrivals and registration

Registration opens at 8.30am. Collect your race number no later than 9.15am from The Race Organiser gazebos at The Bandstand.

All race numbers are held for collection. You will not receive anything in the post before the race.

You don't need ID, but be prepared to show booking confirmation when asked for your name to pick up your race number. Once you've got your race number, please complete the medical and emergency contact information on the reverse and attach it to the front of the shirt you will be running in with four safety pins that will be provided at registration.

Your bib should remain visible on your front at all times and must not be obstructed by clothing or waist bags/belts (containing phones/keys etc). which can interfere with the chip-timing and prevent our timing partner from accurately recording your result.

On-the-day registration is available. Do you know someone else who would like to take part? Encourage them to enter online in advance to avoid disappointment. Online entries close at midday on Friday 14 January.

Toilets, changing and bag drop

There are toilets nearby at The Royal Observatory on The Avenue that usually charge 20p but will be open for runners. If you're using The Pavilion Tea House, just between the race hub and The Royal Observatory, there are also free toilets inside.

There are no dedicated changing facilities, so arrive ready to run if possible. You can leave any clothing, bags, keys and phones at our bag drop. Your race number has a tear-off strip on the bottom that should be attached to anything you leave with us.

The Race

The starts promptly at 9.30am next to the bandstand.

We'll make announcements asking you to prepare to run and move into the start area shortly before the race.

The course is all on tarmac pathway. The starting straight is just over 100m, before you begin a circuit that you'll complete three times, before returning down the same straight to finish.

The course is marshalled, signed with arrows and kilometre markers, and includes a water station that will be passed three times whilst running, with another at the finish.

Spectators

Spectators can watch from anywhere on the course and will see you pass once or twice wherever they are. The Pavilion Tea House is open for refreshments.

After the race

When you've recovered, collect your medal, water and snacks from next to the finish area, and don't forget to collect any belongings you've left with us. Any lost property or left belongings will be retained for a month before being donated to charity.

Your race result

A complete set of results will be posted online and emailed to all runners on Sunday afternoon.
