I thought I had it all figured out; work for my dad’s recording studio in Nashville and forget about Navarone West—the man who stole my heart on a Tennessee whiskey-fueled night in Vegas.

Ten years ago when I turned eighteen, my life became a country music cliché when I fell for a bad boy with a deep, husky, soft drawl that burned my panties to a crisp. A man who chose fame and wasted nights over our own happily ever after. A wild one who vowed to always love me. I wasted my tears trying to chase a man who promised me his heart. So I chose myself, left him, and never looked back.

Flash forward ten years. Navarone rolls back into town with his band Outlaw and into my dad’s recording studio with a six string on his back and songs filled with broken promises, gunning for a second chance. Mr. country rock star is turning my life upside down again, singing songs about how it wasn’t his fault and how he’s going to make me burn.

This time around I’m not falling for his wild charm.
I am going to show this bad boy what it means to burn. Setting him ablaze, making sure I’m not the one catching fire all over again.
One thing I know for sure, when you fall for an outlaw, he’ll never stop chasing you, and maybe some part of me hoped he never would.

A messy, complicated and angsty second-chance-romance that is full of emotion, heartache and longing, but that ultimately delivers an intense, passionate love story that I could not stop reading.

This is the first book in the Nashville Outlaws series, which focusses around a large group of family and friends in Nashville making up not one, but two country/rock bands (plus friends), and a whole lot of characters for us to get to know.

Alice and Navarone (aka ‘Rone’) met as teenagers and fell hard for each other over a summer holiday. They loved hard and fast, and they thought they would be together forever, but it wasn’t to be. Ten years later, Alice is working with her father at their Nashville recording studio, and Rone is an up-and-coming country/rock star. She wants absolutely nothing to do with the guy who shattered her heart, but when her father arranges for Rone’s band, Outlaw, the record at their studio, she is forced back into proximity with a man who is determined to win her back.

“Why did you come?” I ask, feeling his hot breath against my lips.
“I came here for you, Allie.”

The feels and the chemistry are intense from the very beginning. From the moment we see Alice and Rone together, you know that there is so much emotion between them. But while there is love there, it’s buried beneath years and years of pain, anger, guilt and regret, and even though Rone makes it clear that he’s in town to make amends and get his girl back, you know it’s going to be a difficult journey.

“I hate myself for asking you to love me again. I’m a fucking selfish bastard for still loving you. You’re my home, babe. That part never changed.”

Their love story begins so beautifully - full of excitement and hope, of swoony declarations and steamy, intense passion, but when we see them in the future, it’s a hot mess. Seriously. There is no doubt that Alice and Rone love each other fiercely, but the circumstances around their breakup were chaotic (and not fully revealed while we’re in the process of trying to figure out the dynamic between them), and the years following that are a tumultuous mess (again, not fully revealed while we’re in the heart of trying to understand it all). There is so much passion between them, so much emotion, and I could feel the wildly swinging emotions that the two of them were throwing out.

“No, Al, I’m not going to leave you alone. You still belong to me,” he roars … “It wasn’t over for me.”

The story begins in the present, but flashes back to past events throughout the book. I’m usually ok with this sort of set up, but here it got a little confusing at times because events would be alluded to, but we wouldn’t actually get to know the details of what the characters were talking about until later in the book. And the actual timeline of events doesn’t become clear until right towards the end of the book, which messed with me a bit because we don’t actually get a clear picture of the relationship and all that has happened between the characters until right at the very end. So, all of those reactions from the beginning of the story, and the complex back-and-forth doesn’t get explained until it’s pretty much all over. In a relationship like this, which was so turbulent and up and down for so many years, it was hard to keep things straight.

Leaning back, I look deep into his eyes. The hurt in them tears me apart. “I need time,” I say.
“Will you ever love me again, like you once did?” He asks, his voice hoarse.
I don’t know what to tell him.

I got frustrated so many times at Alice for the way she treated Rone. Not only because we didn’t have all of the information upfront and therefore didn’t know all that had gone on between them, but there is an almost continuous push and pull between them – mostly with Rone doing the pushing, but sometimes Alice would be prepared to listen, and other times she wouldn’t. Sometimes she responded to his advances, and then she wouldn’t. And she kept asking him why he was there after he had made that clear SO many times! With all of the push and pull, the fighting, the apologising and the walking away from each other, at times it seemed unclear who was fighting for what.

“Our story isn’t over.” He gazes at me. “This is our fucking story – nobody else’s. Remember that.”

But in the middle of it all, we have this broken man who knows he messed up, and who is trying hard to make things right again. Navarone lays everything on the line, putting his heart right out there, begging for a second chance, and I loved that! From his discrete touches, his dirty words, his flirtatious winks and grins, to his swoony, impassioned pleas, he holds nothing back in his efforts to get his second chance with the love of his life.

“This love still means something. Hell, it’s fucking worth fighting for.”

It’s an emotional rollercoaster for sure, but I was hooked from start to finish. I was so intrigued by these characters and their lives, and I was desperate to understand what happened to them and how they got to where they are. And though I felt like the story unfolded a bit clumsily, it eventually all becomes clear, and they finally find their way back to each other. It’s a long time coming (both for them and for the reader), and they have a lot of false starts along the way, but Navarone fights hard, and he completely stole my heart as the hero fighting to get his happy ending with the girl he loves.

“When the fucking lights go off onstage, this is the me you’re getting. Is that enough for you?”
“Yes … you have always been enough.”

There’s a huge cast of side characters involved in Alice and Rone’s story. It was initially a bit hard keeping track of all them all because there are just so many of them, and you can tell that they are being set up for their own stories, which is great, but it means you need to pay attention to them and who they are linked to, and trying to keep straight the huge group of fathers, brothers, cousins, bandmates, friends and best-friends – most of whom are guys – was a bit tricky at times. But I loved the different dynamics at play within the group, the teasing, banter and jokes are a great balance to the heaviness of the love story, and I’m really excited to read more about them. Alice’s twin brother, Gunner’s story is up next, and I’m so intrigued by him, so I can’t wait for that.

This book was a hard slog at times, but I still couldn’t put it down. I was so invested in Alice and Navarone’s story, and I finished this book with a happy heart and a big grin on my face.

3.5 stars.

Holy emotions!! When I first read this blurb I was beyond curious about this book. Then when I started reading I wasn't so sure. I was actually a little confused and trying to piece things together. Then I met Navarone and couldn't hold back. This book had me traveling one crazy roller coaster. I both loved and hated Allie and Rone. I loved their deep seated love and how they couldn't stop loving each other. But I hated how they hurt each other. I was mad at Rone for not seeing what he was doing to Allie and I was frustrated at Allie for not letting go of her anger.

I don't always like going back in the past in stories but this author did a really great job of tying both the past and present together. Once we started getting their history my initial confusion disappeared. Though I will admit the time line also confused me a bit. But it all made sense in the end.

Side note; can I be mad at Rone for admitting he slept with other women while trying to get over Allie? I really want to but can admit that I probably shouldn't be.

This book had a ton of side characters that I would love to learn more about. The author really builds them up and makes you yearn for more. Though I think at times it got a little overwhelming for me, especially when I kept wanting Allie and Rone to finish what they started. I love a second chance romance and this is definitely a good one. Alice (Allie) was bad*@! and the older, more mature Rone will melt your heart. No doubt I'll be coming back for more. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

ARC REVIEW!!
Make It Burn by L.A. Wayward
***
Alice is a changing dark-haired, tattooed beauty. Once a sweet young thing who blossomed with her love for Navarone, only to morph into the woman she is in the present. Tough, angry, driven and just fine with the people she has around her.
She's trying to forget HIM.
Forget what happened.
And that was just going well...kind of...
Until HE comes back with a whole lot of drama.
Navarone, a man facing the pain he caused for Alice and himself, and the demons he let haunt him for years.
The gritty and haunted present of this love story is what you get, but you will also be delievered the past and what caused this love to burn.
A story of heartbreak and forgiveness, anger and love, strife and resolution. A young love in a world of song and story that built their love, led them though rocky roads and tough times, and took them towards the present...where the past comes back to challenge them both.

Alice and Navarone have a complex relationship spanning over a decade. They were fast burn and slow burn and sometimes explosive.

Entangled as a couple of teenagers. Life gets in the way and Alice forces herself seperate ways from him.

Life is great until they are forced to record his new album in her dad's studio and he tries to repair the damage he caused to her heart.

They relive the past and try to figure out whether a future together is possible.

This book has young love, friendship, family, country music and a lot of drama with some great little snippets about other characters that I know will feed well to other future books in the series.

So if you love stories about meant to be love filled with lots of angst and drama then check it out!!

Holy emotions! This book will give you all the feels. We see two people who met young and had to find what growing up means and go on a journey that will either keep them together or pull them apart.

I found that I had a love/hate relationship with both characters and wanted to jump through the book and hit them upside the head at some points. Now I don’t see that as a bad thing because i feel like it just makes you invested in seeing the outcome of the character.

This book will keep you with feelings of heartache, love, angst and forgiveness. I can’t wait to see what LA Wayward comes up with next!!!

Make It Burn is the story of Alice and Navarone and I just loved it. They both have lots of pain and heartache they need to work through and the only thing standing in their way is themselves. They break your heart and then you want to strangle them both. I loved the way the author let their past play out. I felt like all the flashbacks were well placed in the story. I would have liked to see them do the back and forth maybe one less time than they did, but I think it was supposed to show how much their past affected Allie.

I love the world the author built here, but the huge list of side characters did get confusing at times. I did enjoy the way she set up possible future stories for the side characters.

Their story definitely took some surprising twists and turns that I hadn’t expected and I’m in love with the way it ended.⁣ I’m looking forward to finding out what happens next!

I’m not normally a big fan of rock star romance. But Make It Burn had me hooked from page 1.

This story is addicting and compelling, I could not put it down, L.A. Wayward writing had me captivated until the end.

I love how the author brings the flashback during our reading. It gives us the chance to understand the past between Alice and Navarone.

I loved that Alice was a badass woman. Not just a girl swooning over a handsome guy. She is so accomplished and mature.

If you like rock star romance and second chance romances, then you’ll enjoy this book !

This is my first book by LA Wayward, and I am absolutely blown away. I love this book and these characters so much, and cannot wait for the others in this series.

Allie & Navarone’s love story was a roller coaster ride full of hurt, heartache, and finally redemption. I laughed and cried and hurt with them. These two are like fire and gasoline, perfect for each other but disastrous at the same time.

Wow. The emotions here hit deep in both good and bad ways. I felt the characters pain, so a good way there, but then those same characters aggravated me to no end, providing the bad ways.
There was a lot going on with the flashbacks, and that made it a little hard to follow for a bit, but once I got back on track, I was golden.
Overall, it’s a well thought out story, with a lot of promising threads for the continuation of the series.

This book! Make it Burn by L A Wayward is passionate, sweet, sexy, heartbreaking, funny, angsty, dramatic, emotional, and engaging. The characters, even though flawed, are likable and believable. I found myself totally captivated by Alice, Navarone, and their love story. If any couple deserves a happily ever after—these two do. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

The blurb for this has my intrigued but the country music side has me a bit wary as it’s not normally a scene I like to read about, this just shows I shouldn’t judge a book by its cover because DAMN 🥵

A messy complicated second chance romance that is full of heartache and longing but ultimately delivers an intense story that I couldn’t put down

Alice and Rone met as teenagers and fell hard and fast, thinking they would be together forever..: but 10 years later Alice wants nothing to do with the guy that broke her heart. Her father however has other ideas as he invites Rone and his band to record at the family studio.

At times I was so frustrated with both characters for how they were letting their story play out but I finished this book with a massive smile on my face

Reading about all the secondary characters was a blast and I can’t wait for more Nashville Outlaws

As always, beautifully written. I love Wayward’s books. This one surely didn’t disappoint. You get years of understanding in this book. Alice, her struggles, heartache and reluctancy.

Alice is that character you live. Being able to go back and forth to past and present sets everything into her emotional mind and heart. Devastated by her breakup to Navarone, rockstar with the Outlaws. Now he’s back and she’s working with his band. But can they work together after what happened years ago? Do they even have a chance to rekindle what they had? Be ready for one emotional ride. You will laugh but cry in this book. The steam is great. The rockstar life was described great. Felt like I was right there with them. I can’t wait for more!

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: Make it Burn
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
AUTHOR: L.A. Wayward
TROPE: rock star romance, second chance romance
TYPE: The Nashville Outlaws Series #1
POV: Single POV
MY RATING: 5.0 Stars

This is the story of Navarone and Alice who met when Alice and her family visited California once summer. Alice was 16 at the time and Navarone was 18. The two of them hit it off and had an instant connection with one another. A romance quickly developed between the two until Alice went back to Nashville with her family. Over the course of a year, the two talk constantly until Navarone surprises Alice by taking her on a trip for her 18th birthday. The story fast forwards 10 years to when Alice is working at her father’s recording studio in Nashville where Navarone is scheduled to record with his band. The two have a very complicated history; however, Navarone makes it clear that he’s home to win back Alice.

The author reached out on IG and told me about her debut novel Make It Burn that was available on Kindle. I am sucker for a second chance romance. Something about the heartbreaking aspect of a couple breaking up only to come together again once they’ve worked through all of their issues. I enjoyed how the story started off in the present but went back in time to tell the story of how Navarone and Alice came together as a couple. The chemistry between the two was intense. It was evident from the beginning of the novel that Alice was angry with Navarone; however, the real reason wasn’t revealed until later in the novel. The couple went through a lot together and it took Alice even longer to stand to be in the same room with Navarone towards the end of the novel. Their love story was beautiful and had a HEA.

If you like rock star romances and second chance romances, then you’ll enjoy this book. The supporting characters like Alice’s twin brother were hilarious. Looking forward to move books put out by L.A. Wayward.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Such an emotional story. Such a strong story. Such a sexy story. Somehow all these combined created the perfect book.

First of all. How many men does this book has? I counted at least 10. Friends, siblings, cousins etc are all males 🙈. Not that I didn't like that. They all sounded cool, sassy and hot as fuck 😏.

L.A. Wayward is a new author to me. And if I remember right, Make it burn is her debut novel. Hun, how can a book like that be your debut? Your writing style is flawless, your characters are hella interesting and the thing you did with the plot? Going from the past to present and vice versa?
Genius.

The two main characters, Alice and Navarone have a very unique story. We do not read them meet each other, play around, have a couple mishapenings and then find their HEA. They had their HEA years ago. But they lost it. Their love was not a strong enough reason to keep them together when some really dramatic events happened.

Between these two, was played a really intense and emotional ping pong game. One was coming close? The other one was leaving. One said I love you? The other one said I don't.

This emotional game was orchestrated amazingly by the author in order to escalate their story in a way, that you couldn't be sure what will happen in the end.

Last but not least I want to mention the smutt. I appreciate good written steamy scenes and this book had some REALLY good ones 🙈 Navarone? This man has a dirty mouth that will melt your panties.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars 👏

Debut author L.A. Wayward gave us a beautiful second-chance, rock star romance as her debut book!
Navarone and Alice's story gave me all the feels! From the first flutters of their hearts when they were teenagers, both still inexperienced and shy, and learning about love and sex with each other, to getting destroyed and going down the rabbit hole, and to finally finding the strength to say the necessary "no"'s in order to redeem and find themselves. It was an emotional rollercoaster. The story begins with an 18-year-old Rone and 17-year-old Alice, both children from rock star families, falling in love with each other. Alice would do ANYTHING for Rone (and she did). Rone was a complex character, completely enamored with Alice, but still a 20-21 year old exploring the rock star scene and whatever it had to offer. The "Present Day" in the book happens when they are 27-28, already broken and hurt, but Rone wants Alice back, ready to do whatever it takes!
There were many instances when the book made me feel swoon-y, others that made me feel very HOT, and others that made me feel VERY angry and sad! My heart broke for Alice and what she went through with Navarone. But Navarone completely redeemed himself in the end, and it was incredible to see the lengths he went to try and win her back!
A beautiful story! As a debut book, it's certainly worth a read. The only thing that i didn't like was that sometimes it gave names, places, or memories without divulging more, and i was left trying to guess who that person was, or happened in that place. Other than that, definitely worth a read!

This novel by L.A Wayward is an emotional roller coaster.
.
Not gonna lie I spent a lot of time frustrated and wanting to reach in and smack both the characters upside the head for different reasons. I kinda felt like Allie was immature at times, just with how she handled certain situations and Rone, his constant blatant actions of hurting her were tiresome. These made the story feel dragged out, but I did enjoy their passion and depth in which they loved each other. The kind we all envy to have.
.
Other than that I though the characters were great, the plot was well thought out and I can’t wait to see how it develops through the rest of the series. I’m not gonna lie, the beginning had me confused and I find flashbacks or reading the past to be a bore but I also know how essential they are to stories, so when it came together and made sense in the end, I enjoyed it. The world build was awesome. I loved the original names of the characters too. Navarone is a name I’ve never heard of so that was awesome to see.
.
Also I feel like there were so many side characters it started feeling like it wasn’t just Allie and Rones story but everybody’s and got confusing. I’m not sure if that was intentional and that the next books are those characters in lead positions but I was definitely curious about a few of them and I’m hoping for that. I don’t read too much second chance romance but I really enjoyed this one.
.
Id definitely recommend this to any who loves a good passionate and deep second chance romance with lots of drama and tension.

Description:
Alice and Navarone (a musician) meet at ages 16 and 18 when Alice’s father moves her and her twin brother to California to live with Navarone’s father for the summer. Rone and Al hang out a lot and eventually develop feelings for each other. When Alice turns 18, she is allowed to fly to Vegas with Navarone, where they get drunk and get married. 10 years pass and we watch as their now crumbled marriage picks back up again when Navarone is recording in her father’s music studio.

Review:
I was not sure if this was going to be the type of book I would be interested in. Country music is not a genre of music that I personally enjoy, and I read that Navarone is, in fact, a country music recording artist. Automatically, I had my guard up, waiting for their voices to narrate their dialogue in my head with stereotypical country twang…but I never got that. Instead, I read Alice as a badass tatted up, Harley-riding girl with a huge chip on her shoulder. She’s surrounded by men and musicians and has to hold her own with all of them. I read Navarone as an old soul (despite only being in his late 20’s when we meet him in present day) who has a rough voice and has been through some shit. I loved that I wasn’t stereotyping these characters because of how well-written their flaws, feelings and emotions were.

I loved that no matter what part of their journeys they were in, they would always find themselves finding and gravitating toward the other. I genuinely loved these characters by the end of this book.

The Nashville Outlaw Series Book 1
Make it Burn
Authour: L.A Wayward

Man what an unexpected read it blew my mind away.

The sexual tension will definitely make you burn. The crushing heartbreak of these two killed me.

The dynamic of the characters was amazing I could not laugh when they're all together. The teasing, the banter, and the jokes were a great added feature to this story. I'm really excited to read more about these characters. Also, the way they all take care of each other is so touching.

I could not put this down as I had so many unanswered questions. L. A Wayward's style of writing is addictive. Kept me on the edge of my seat and needed to know what was going to happen with these two. They have a very complicated relationship that has been going on for almost a decade. Slow burn to fast burn and back again explosive with so much angst and drama. I adored having this story go between the present and the flashbacks of the past, so we can get the whole picture of this complex relationship between Alice and Navarone. An emotional roller-coaster ride doesn't even begin to cover this book.

I can't wait for more in this series.

I was not in the slightest prepared for this book. I went in without reading much of the blurb, and hoped I wouldn't be disappointed.

Wow just wow

What an epic journey!! I'm completely blown away!! ❤

The author managed to captivate me while reading, spinning the story in an effortless way that made me just go with the flow. Created a solid foundation for her characters and plot development. I couldn't stop reading this book. I was flipping through pages wanting to learn more about all these amazing characters.

I adored Allie & Navarone...though I wanted to get into the story and knock some sense into them more than once.😂

I also loved all the other side characters so much, and I cannot wait for the other books in this series.

WOW! This story was very emotional, overwhelming at times but with many beautiful moments. Allie and Rone had my emotions all tied up.

They had great chemistry🔥🔥
I was fascinated by them and their love story.

Make It Burn was passionate, sweet, sexy, heartbreaking, funny, dramatic, emotional, and captivating.

Highly recommend.

WOW, This book was a rollercoaster of emotions! It is a story that goes back and forth from present to past. Usually I’m not a fan of whiplash but this book just made it work!

This is the story of Alice and Navarone, “Al and Rone”. Its a whirlwind to put it in one word. At the beginning I kept screaming “WHAT DID HE DO!” After reading of her anger and hurt from their past. After a few chapters totally I got where Alice was coming from, and I felt for her, my heart hurt for her 100% (one particularly situation stood out to me and its a bit of a trigger for me)

This story is about that type of love that hurts so deep, the one that makes you hurt from that heartbreak that only your other person can make you feel. But, Its also about forgiveness and letting go. Rone was not a saint to put it mildly! But he outgrew his habits and changed to fight for love. Im glad she didn’t give up so easily! Im glad she put her foot down and knew her worth! I get annoyed sometimes when the Girl gives in so soon, in some stories it works but usually they make the girls look weak and desperate IMO! But to wrap it up 5 star read, hands down!!

This is an author to look out for in the future for sure, new fan here!!

It was painful for Allie and Rone to be together and just as painful for them to be apart. The emotions in this book were cutting. It wasn't until about 3/4 of the way through when the pieces of the past started to puzzle together that I found myself questioning things. How exactly did a pregnant, barely 18 year old girl end up on tour with her newlywed husband who is already displaying an unhealthy relationship with alcohol while she's supposedly surrounded by a million overprotective men?? When Allie's listing all Rone's misdemeanors of the past, and with the 10 year time gap, I assumed that she'd been living this life for years, when in actual fact, it couldn't be more than a few months. I didn't think their foundation was solid enough to create a connection that they couldn't move on from. I could understand Allie's reluctance to give Rone a second chance, and I could understand him trying to prove himself but I ended up with whiplash from the constant push and pull of what they wanted from each other.
Even with these issues I still enjoyed the book. The other characters were entertaining and the journey was still enjoyable.

Heartbreaking but beautiful story!

WOW! This story was intensely emotional, heartbreaking at times but with many beautiful moments. Allie and Rone had my emotions all tied up in knots. Their connection was instantaneous and intense. I was captivated and enthralled by them and their passionate love story.

The hurt, pain and anger between them burned brightly and made them harder people over the years. They both had a lot of growing up to do and a lot of demons to work out of their lives before they could continue to be together.

Allie and Rone have such fiery and highly combustible sexual chemistry that it just oozed off the pages. Every time their eyes met you could feel the pull of their bodies to be together. It was very intense.

This is a fantastically written story that I couldn’t put down. I loved each and every character and want to know more about them. I was entertained right from the very first page all the way to the beautiful and lovely ending.

Highly recommend.

I loved the dynamic of the "big, dysfunctional, testosterone filled family" and how it was bonded by love and shared interest in music 🥰 I think this is a good start to the series as we can already see 3 different couples that will probably getting their own book. Personally I think the pacing could be faster and a higher climax because it wasn't very clear where the climax was. Another suggestion would be making it dual perspective to help the audience understand their conflict better and I think people will like it more if we got Rone's side! (He is quite charming) 🤩However, overall not too bad for a debut novel! I personally love to support indie authors for their passion! 😍

There aren’t many books that I will sit down and read in one setting but L.A. Wayward’s Make It Burn was just that. I HAD to know what happened between Navarone (Rone) and Alice. Rone, man where do you start with that man? I LOVE that she gave her Hero an original name and he wasn’t just Jacob or Isaac or Matthew.. Navarone fits him and gives him that edge that a musician needs.

Make It Burn isn’t one of those “they met, they married and lived HEA.” Alice and Rone met when she was 16 and he was 18; they spent the summer together building a friendship. This was very much an organically built relationship and like any other couple they had their ups and downs.

Did they work through it and have that much anticipated Happily Ever After? Well you’ll have to read the book to find out for yourself!!

5-star review!!!

I went into this book not knowing what to expect at all and I was blown away. Allie’s and Rone’s story felt so incredibly real. This book did not only manage to make me cry but it really resonated with me. Even though I did not like how Allie was dragging it on towards the end, I still felt the realness in that. The writing was absolutely immaculate and I cannot wait to read more of L.A. Wayward’s books. The book talks about some heavy subjects, such as substance abuse and miscarriages, so I advise to make sure you are okay with reading a book like this. Otherwise, I absolutely recommend!

Loved every word

This was amazing from start to finish. First love always sets us on fire leaving a blaze in it's path until their is nothing left but ash. But sometimes, that love rises from the ashes burning brighter than before. Rone and Ally loved hard but life in the fast lane truly made them lose their minds. In the end, the changes those fast and hard choices caused opened their eyes to not only themselves but each other. I would give this book more than five stars if I could. Absolutely perfectly well done.

My only problem with this story is that Rone supposedly loves Alice so much but can't seem to stop hooking up with other girls whereas Alice also loves Rone and she hooks up with no one else the several years they're apart. It's one of my biggest romance story pet peeves. Why would a woman not be with anyone else in over 5, 8, 10 years just waiting around for one day when the man she loved as a teen to come back?

I was very happy that they got their HEA though.

This book was hard to put down. Alice went through so much at such a young age and I totally understood her anger. I loved and hated Rone but he redeemed himself by the end of the book. This is a slow burn but oh so 🔥.  I highly recommend this story if you want some good angst, emotion and a happy ending.
