Description

To ensure realism in the training of Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) staff, NARU requires specialist actors with the ability to simulate realistic and severe trauma, including amputations. In addition to the specialist actors NARU requires make-up artists capable of replicating realistic wounds. It is the responsibility of the make-up artists to supply make-up and other ancillary equipment. The make-up artists will support and work with NARU staff who provide realistic casualty moulage.

The casualty actors must be capable of replicating a range of injuries from minor cuts to leg and arm amputations. The actors must be capable of aiding the realism of differing training scenarios and to enhance the "shock factor" of the training exercises

Male, female amputees and able-bodied actors are required to participate in scenario-based role play, enabling the realism of training exercises to be maintained. The scenarios are mainly conducted outside and occur in all weathers.
