Boarding Support

Boarding Advisors

Contact Email: boarding@branksome.on.ca

The Boarding team is a professional and caring group of adults who are experienced in the areas of residential living and the development of young people.

Social Workers

Social Workers are available in the Counselling Wing of the Senior School or the second floor of the Middle School to provide social and emotional support to individual students and their families. In addition, Social Workers promote school-wide positive mental health and well-being through prevention and education, and the development of social skills and emotional resilience by working with young people as members of the Student Support team.

Health Centre: Nurse & Physician Support

All Boarding students will have an individual appointment with the School Nurse within the first two weeks of school to assess their health care needs and to review their medical records. The Nurse must be notified of all medication being taken and any major past or ongoing medical concerns so that we can best support each student.

For the 2023–24 school year, the Health Centre has partnered with MCI, The Doctor’s Office to provide the Boarding community with access to physician assessment and care, as needed. Necessary appointments can be booked through the Health Centre.

Note: If an appointment is booked and missed, a cancellation fee will be applied to the student’s account.

Keep.meSAFE.org – Online Student Support for Mental Well-Being

Boarding students aged 15 and over have access to an innovative Student Support Program (SSP) that offers 24/7 access to mental health support online. Keep.meSAFE is an online support program that matches linguistic and cultural needs of students with licensed clinicians, providing students with access to a counsellor who understands their culture in their preferred language. The support is immediate and fully confidential through chat, telephone and the free SSP app. To learn more, visit keepmesafe.org.
