The year we pulled our kids out of the government school the Principal called Mrs f'd, who had been PTA President the previous year, and asked that we let them come for a couple of weeks and then pull them out for exactly that reason. The Principle even said so. That pretty much settled any qualms we had about homeschooling.

It may vary some but it usually happens late September-early October, somewhere in that time frame. In any case, districts usually publicize giving out rewards and bribes to make sure kids make it the full 5 days (tho they do not normally admit why). They'll let you know.

This is the way. Hit where it hurts. Loss of $$$ = pain and terror to ANY district.

I don't think that would matter. It can get written in. The important part is the press plate with my info on it. In reality, if I ever did use it i'd just give the receipt and manually type the numbers in when the system came up. All my customers I already have their card on file and do it that way anyway due to recurring billing.

The system will not brook any challenges to their cash flow. When my local school district feared declining enrollment due to last year, they basically said that they would import kids from a neighboring school district (all of whom would be provided separate classrooms), to keep enrollment up.

Its precisely the fact that all of these systems are so skilled and adept at avoiding any consequences for their actions that the pressure keeps building up. Someone has to pay the piper for bad decisions.
