The University of New Brunswick Saint John welcomes applications for the position of Research Assistant with Nursing and Health Sciences. This is a 1-year term, full-time (36.25 hours per week) position with the APT employee group. The position is funded by External Monies with a salary range of $47,825 - $62,177 per annum.
The successful candidate will be the main point of contact for organizing and administering study tasks at all phases of the research project in New Brunswick. The role will be highly collaborative and the RA will work closely with the research team in New Brunswick and their counterparts in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
Position summary:
- Prepare research ethics applications and amendments.
- Communication with research team members.
- Data and document management, including data transfers between sites.
- Environmental scan of publicly available information (e.g. websites)
- Recruitment of participants for virtual interviews (including children and parents of children with complex needs and policy makers)
- Support qualitative and quantitative data analysis
- Draft research dissemination material, including abstracts and final reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements/Skills:
- Masters degree in the health disciplines or a related field.
- Previous research experience is essential, including participant recruitment.
- Strong writing skills essential as are excellent communication and time management skills.
- Previous experience with conducting literature searches.
- Previous experience conducting qualitative interviews is an asset.
- Must have working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of programs.
- Excellent literature search skills, and ability to quickly adapt to use of other programs (e.g. Zotero, NVivo, SPSS, Zoom, Covidence).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
