MOOC - Smart Specialisation in EU Enlargement and Neighbourhood Region and the new trends in the Smart Specialisation approach


Created by the Joint Research Centre, this MOOC analyses the main phases of designing a Smart Specialisation Strategy while considering the specificity of each territory. The MOOC includes 7 modules aimed at disseminating the guidance and methodological approach, as well as practical examples, lessons and experiences.
   


Training course on working with evidence for policymakers


It is built up around key skills in this area, ranging from understanding policy problems and identifying evidence needs, to gathering and assessing evidence.

There will be two deliveries of the course: November 22-23-24 (AM) and December 5-6 (PM) 7 (AM).

The Sustainable Transformation of Agriculture Through Digitalisation and Space


The main objective of this call is to develop space-based services and applications that boost the sustainable transformation of agriculture by taking advantage of data and innovative technologies. Topics of relevance: agriculture of data and Climate-smart agriculture (CSA). Services for supporting the sustainable transformation of agriculture will benefit greatly from the combined use of satellite communication and positioning, as well as earth observation imagery.

I3 Strand 2b - Capacity Building in Less Developed Regions


To be launched on November 15, Strand 2b projects refer to the concrete experimentation of new approaches, solutions and good practices to engage in interregional innovation processes mobilising ecosystems and in particular SMEs. Projects are expected to deliver a pipeline of potential interregional investments as well as business and investment plans.

Info Session on the I3 Instrument Call "Strand 2b Capacity Building in Less Developed Regions"


EISMEA and DG REGIO will organise an informative session about the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) Instrument call for proposals Strand 2b. It aims to test new approaches for increasing the capacity of regional innovation ecosystems in less developed regions to collaborate in EU value chains. The call will be launched on 15 November 2023.

The S3 Community of Practice has announced that the upcoming S3 Forum will take place on 28 November at La Llotja de Mar, Barcelona. An event dedicated to EU S3 practitioners, experts and stakeholders to attend. There will be a set of side events on the next day: the Steering committee meeting for the S3 Thematic Platforms and the meetings of the working groups on innovation diffusion, interregional collaboration, and industrial transitions.

Traceability & Big Data Technical Meeting


A year after the last face-to-face technical meeting, the S3P Traceability and Big Data thematic Partnership will meet again in Barcelona taking advantage of the S3 Forum organised by the S3 CoP the day before. The agenda will specially deal with the update on the working groups and the partnership road map.

EU Agri-Food Days


The Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission organises this event which will include a conference on the currently open EU-Canada Dialogue on Sustainable Agriculture (5 Dec) and the conference ‘A digital transformation for farmers and rural communities for sustainable future’ the last day. The event will take place in Brussels but the possibility to join online the events from 6-8 is also available.
