Green Bridge – the first cast iron bridge in Saint Petersburg

Green Bridge (also known as Police Bridge and People Bridge) is a bridge across Moyka River at the intersection with Nevsky Avenue in Saint Petersburg (Central District), Russia.

It was the first cast iron bridge in the city. In 1844 it became the first bridge paved with asphalt in Russia.

Belongs to the bridges with “colored” names.

The nearest metro is Gostiny Dvor station. Upstream is the Pevchesky Bridge, below is the Red Bridge.

Immediately adjacent to the Green Bridge are the Chicherin House and the Stroganov Palace.
