Museum of Modern Arts named after S. P. Diaghilev in St. Petersburg

The Museum of Modern Arts named after S. P. Diaghilev of St. Petersburg State University is the State Museum of Contemporary Art, the first university museum of contemporary art in Russia, founded in 2008 on the basis of the Center for the Arts by Diaghilev (1990-2008) and a member of the Department of Expositions and Collections of St. Petersburg University.

The core of the collection is the works of representatives of the independent art of Leningrad in 1960-1980. Since 2000, it has been located at Lieutenant Schmidt Embankment, 11.

The collection of contemporary art from 1978-2010 collected by the Diaghilev Center, numbering 300 works, was donated to St. Petersburg University in 2008.

The collection includes works of painting, graphics, sculpture and other types of art. The core of the collection is made up of works by representatives of the Leningrad independent art of the 1960s-1980s.
