GreenTech to pilot drinking water nanofiltration in China

Jan. 26, 2022
The water treatment company headquartered in Beijing will begin pilot NX Filtration's direct nanofiltration technology in both the JiangSu and Zhejiang provinces.

GreenTech Environmental, a water treatment and wastewater recycling company headquartered in Beijing, will begin a pilot program with NX Filtration’s direct nanofiltration (dNF) membranes for the production of drinking water in the Chinese provinces of JiangSu and Zhejiang.

GreenTech Environmental Co. Ltd focuses on engineering, construction, operation management and financing for advanced water treatment and waste-to-resources using membrane technologies. Similar to European surface waters, the removal of a variety of emerging micropollutants is an increasing challenge in China. To address this challenge, GreenTech will start a pilot program on surface water treatment with NX Filtration’s dNF technology.

In January 2022, the first pilot project, based on NX Filtration’s automated Mexpert pilot system, will start at a drinking water production location in the JiangSu Province. In the course of 2022, a second pilot will be initiated for drinking water production in the Zhejiang province.

“We are very happy to start working with NX Filtration’s direct nanofiltration technology,” said David Wang, Senior Vice President at GreenTech. “With the pilot projects we are looking to research the removal efficiency for a variety of organics and emerging micropollutants, such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products, and endocrine-disrupting compounds.”

“We are proud to deploy our unique direct nanofiltration membranes for GreenTech to produce drinking water from surface water in China,” added Robert Gerard, sales director at NX Filtration.
