I really dig this Succulento Cortado photograph by American artist, Dean Lee Uhlinger. For one thing, it’s a cool looking picture. I love the shades of green and yellow with purple flecked in there. But what I love the most about it is the title. Suculento Cortado..

I know in the plant world there are succulents. But a cortado is an Italian espresso drink, largely obscure here in the states. It’s basically an espresso shot brewed with sugar. It resembles the dark circle in at the bottom right.

I will always love anything that coffee is incorporated into. I think this is especially creative.

[Ok, so cortado also means “cut up” in Italian, but I prefer my definition better ;)]

Dean began shooting his father’s camera when he was 13 and he hasn’t stopped.

Dean is in the Saatchi gallery. He lives and works in Oregon. If you dig this as much as I do, here is my special link to purchase.
