WhatsApp Cloud API for businesses launched by Meta

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on Thursday announced important updates to WhatsApp Business Messaging offerings. The Meta-owned messaging app is introducing free cloud-based API services with an aim to get more businesses using the messaging app.
The announcement was made by Zuckerberg at Meta's "Conversations" event. The Meta CEO said that with this new offering any business or developer could easily access the service and could customise their experience and even speed up their response to customers.
Zuckerberg stated, "Today we're launching WhatsApp Cloud API for any business of any size around the world. This will allow businesses and developers to build on top of WhatsApp to customize their experiences and respond to customers quickly and easily. The best business experiences meet people where they are and that's WhatsApp, so I'm excited to open this to businesses everywhere."
With the Cloud API partners can eliminate server expenses. It will also help businesses to provide customers with quick access to new features. The app will also provide new customisable click-to-chat links with the Cloud API, reported TOI.
According to WhatsApp tracker WABetaInfo, the company is also planning to offer advanced and optional tools, including the ability to claim a custom and personal short link. The messaging app is also offering more features to WhatsApp Business accounts with WhatsApp premium subscription plans.
This feature will offer the ability to link up to 10 devices to the same account and would work on the multi-device connectivity that the instant messaging platform has implemented. This service will also offer businesses to use of customised short link services. As per WABetaInfo, the subscription plan for WhatsApp will be optional and only limited to businesses. The feature is still under development and its release date is not known as of now.
