I rely on regular reports on the student progress provided by online learning platforms or LMS (Learning Management System)
I rely only on testing, i don't care how they learn at all
Web-conference lessons is my way to interact with students and get such feedback
It is hard and takes much time, but I try to communicate with all of them personally to get such an understanding
