Teacher Appreciation Week

About Teacher Appreciation Week
San Diego Unified teachers have gone to extraordinary lengths to swiftly transition to supporting their students' learning at home. National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7, 2021 -- the perfect time for us to thank teachers for their tremendous dedication, creativity and problem solving during the pandemic. San Diego Unified invites you to participate and give thanks to San Diego's deserving teachers!

In observance of National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7, 2021San Diego Unified will be holding a special virtual celebration honoring the district’s Teachers of the Year, on National Day of the Teacher May 4, 2021. The theme for San Diego Unified’s Teacher of the Year celebration is Teachers: Leading in crisis, fostering resiliency and building a Better San Diego’. As the Covid-19 pandemic affected the education process, it created challenges for teachers everywhere. It created a need to revisit the method of giving education. This theme reminds us that our Teachers have had a significant role in the resiliency of our students and our education system. Teachers are essential to ensuring we emerge from the pandemic stronger with the promise of a better tomorrow.
