Position: Research Associate

BRAC JPGSPH was founded in 2004 in Dhaka, Bangladesh to address the unmet public health challenges particular to Asia, Africa and South America. We are looking for a Research Associate for the School.

Key responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the RA are as follows:

  • To plan, organize and implement qualitative data collection process, and provide guidance and direction to the field team for effectively conducting high-quality data
  • Monitoring and supervision of both qualitative and quantitative data collection
  • Reviewing literature and prepare guidelines for research protocol implementation
  • Conducting Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), In-Depth Interview (IDI)
  • Analyzing data using qualitative data analysis software and prepare interpretations of data
  • Writing up scientific reports and manuscripts for journal publications
  • Organize and facilitate training, and workshops on qualitative research
  • Some other administrative tasks related to implementing the research

Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s degree in any discipline. However, preference will be given to the candidates of Anthropology, Sociology, Public Health, Public Policy, MBBS or related fields with relevant experience and strong interest in qualitative research.

Other requirements:

  • Research and/or project management experience at least 2-3 Years.
  • Must have scientific writing skills and good command in writing and speaking English as well

Work Station: Based in Dhaka, but travel to the field sites during data collection

Salary: Negotiable

Initially, the RA will be offered a 3-month contract for the described responsibilities. Afterwards, the RA may be recruited for longer term conditional on good performance and may continue working under the supervision of PI.
