A bit about LTEC

LTEC is led by a senior academic and supported by a nucleus of people with a proven track record of excellence in learning, teaching and assessment. It provides a focal point to disseminate and embed best practice, engaging with all teaching staff. Its role is to support and inspire educators and facilitate change through action. Working with and within Academic Schools to embed changes and enhancements to practice, the Centre is an enabler to inform and change practice and to communicate successes, bringing Salford to the forefront as a sector leader.

What will the role involve? 

The Academic Developer will be responsible for implementing significant change in our approach to teaching and learning practice. They will contribute to the enhancement of academic practice across the University, inspiring excellence in teaching, learning and assessment. They will also support and lead teaching and learning practice development, enabling the University to continue to provide high quality learning to meet the needs of its diverse student body. The post holder will play a significant role working as LTEC business partner for one of our four Academic Schools, delivering bespoke interventions in partnership with School Leadership, and ensuring that institutional priorities are addressed through excellence in academic practice. They will identify and disseminate effective practice, playing a central role in driving the improvement of the teaching and learning experience, and enabling student success. The Academic Developer will build and maintain credible and professional relationships with leaders, managers and key stakeholders across our academic and professional services communities, fostering an environment which supports improvements in academic performance to the benefit of the University, its students and staff.

You'll have the following skills & experience

As an Academic Developer you will have a successful track record in the development and implementation of interventions to enhance pedagogic practice and experience in coordinating and organising professional and academic development. The role requires excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills. You will have the ability to engage academic and professional services staff at every level of the University, building and maintaining complex relationships with various stakeholders, and with differing requirements. In line with the Salford Behaviours, you will be a role model in visibly inspiring, aligning, collaborating, co-creating, enabling and evolving colleagues’ behaviours across the remit of the post.

A few more things!

The starting salary for this post is £42,149 and the annual leave allocation is 27 days per annum. We offer a hybrid working model dependent on business requirements, but the general expectation is to work on site 2-3 days per week. This can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
