About

Emily Feistritzer is the Founder and CEO of TeachNow Inc, revolutionary global teacher preparation and certification suite of offerings designed on a custom platform to prepare tomorrow's teachers for tomorrow's students in tomorrow's learning world. Feistritzer founded and was CEO of the National Center for Education Information in 1979-2013 and the National Center for Alternative Certification in 2003-13. These organizations served as clearinghouses for data and information about education, particularly pertaining to teachers and their preparation. NCEI conducted surveys, analyzed data, and published 45 widely-used books and reports, authored by Feistritzer, including PROFILE OF TEACHERS IN THE U.S.(2011, 2005, 1996, 1990, 1986); ALTERNATIVE TEACHER CERTIFICATION: A State-by-State Analysis (published annually 1990-2010); THE MAKING OF A TEACHER: A report on Teacher Preparation in the U.S. (1999, 1984); THE CONTEXT OF TEACHING (2010); TEACHER CRISIS: Myth or Reality. She has testified before the United States Congress and several state legislatures, briefed members of presidential administrations, delivered numerous speeches, and authored scores of reports and articles in professional journals on the topics of teacher supply and demand and the preparation and certification of teachers. Her work has been widely covered in the media and is used by policy and decision-makers at all levels in education. It is this lifetime of work that led Emily to go back to the drawing board and create the ideal program for preparing tomorrow's teachers for tomorrow's learners in tomorrow's learning world -- TEACH-NOW.
