Communications with Families

The school communicates regularly and proactively with families using various channels:

Email Newsletters

It is the school’s expectation that all parents read the weekly e-newsletter, which is distributed every Friday afternoon during the school year, and keeps parents up-to-date on school activities, key dates and other important information:

The Friday Files are archived and can be found on the Branksome Hall Portal:

The school-wide community also receives the quarterly newsletter from the Principal, The Word in the Hall. This e-newsletter provides an update on and recap of student achievements and interesting news from the school. Recent issues:

Email Correspondence

In order to streamline digital communications, the school will limit email correspondence to special event invitations, essential items or timely announcements. Other information will appear in the Friday Files, and we strongly encourage parents to refer to these newsletters weekly for their main source of school and student information.

Please note: The school sends newsletters and other important information to families by using the email address bhinfo@branksome.on.ca. To ensure that you receive all communications, we recommend that you add this address to your email contact list.

MyBranksome Portal

The MyBranksome Portal is the first place you should check for information about Branksome Hall. From your daughter’s class and team schedule to the internal school calendar, school forms, report cards, news and photo albums, it can all be found on the Portal. The internal school calendar can easily be added to your own web calendars, to make searching for school events even easier. To learn more about how to do this along with other tips on navigating the Portal, please visit our Guide to the Portal.

Change of Contact Information

Your contact information is important in maintaining our communications with you and ensuring your child’s well-being. This includes your mobile number as well as emergency contacts and their mobile numbers.

If your phone number, home or email address changes, please click “Profile” located under your name in the top right corner of the MyBranksome Portal to update it.

Photo Permissions

Faculty, staff and students often use photographs and videos to capture school life. These include classroom activities, athletics, plays, concerts and a variety of other co-curriculars. For school communications, such as newsletters, social media and Portal albums, we adhere to the permissions families give us in their Photograph/Video Permission form prior to the start of the school year. Your child’s image will not be used in school Admissions or promotional materials without your express written consent. Permission can be revoked at any time by contacting communications@branksome.on.ca.

Titan App for Emergency Notifications

All Branksome Hall parents are eligible to enroll to receive broadcast notifications from the school via Titan Health & Security Technologies, an emergency communications platform. This app is used for broadcast messages about school safety, potential school closures due to inclement weather, and other important school updates. An email with your username and login information, as well as details about how to download the app and update your contact information, will be shared with new parents in September. More information about Titan can be found on the Portal. For questions, please contact itsupport@branksome.on.ca.

The READ Magazine

Branksome Hall’s award-winning, alum-focused magazine is mailed annually to the alum and current school communities. Digital past issues can be found here.
