This was a good start to a very promising series. It's enemies to lovers with some mysterious twists weaved through out the book. The start of the book was a bit slow imo and I understand why that was so I was ok with that. There was lots of back story and characters that needed to be introduced. From about the 30% mark on I was captivated with how this all was going to play out.
Brendan & Ayanna were an interesting pair. He is the one sitting on the throne at his school and in his town. She is from the other side. The side that you wished you didn't live in and that everyone looks down on you for being from. Now she's in his domain. At his school and he isn't afraid to show her just who rules who. They have a past that is just known to them. They despise each other because of it and their words/actions support that.
I like that Ayanna didn't hold back though. She didn't cower when he came at her. She was strong and tough. Just what he needs in his world.... a little bit of light in the darkness.
There is a great group of characters in this book - Brendan's sister, his best friends and Ayanna's bestie all brought something great to this story. I'm looking forward to reading more about Rocco. His playful side made me fall for him!

I was a bit nervous about this book as Leslie V. Walker shared that it would be a kind of introduction to the world in which the story of the Westview Heartbreakers would unfold, and although the plot is a bit confusing and leaves more questions than answers, I think she did an excellent job introducing her characters, captivating me with the plot, its mysteries, secrets, revelations and the love story between Brendan & Ayanna.
To begin with, I loved that the mystery was present from the beginning, creating a thousand doubts and theories about what could have happened between Brendan & Ayanna so that they both ended up hating each other, but also about who he really is , what Ayanna discovered and what happened at summer camp.
Vicious Desire is told mostly from Ayanna's point of view, a girl who lives on the wrong side of town but is "lucky" to study with the privileged kids, she's a lover of horror, considered rare by many people, and attacked due to her origin, she's a kind girl, who sees the good in people and empathizes with others, Ayanna hates Brendan because of past situations, but she's drawn to him in equal measure, something she cannot keep hiding when their paths cross again in unexpected ways.
One of the things I liked the most about Ayanna was her personality, I think she's a simple girl who goes through complex situations, both at home and at school, she's constantly trying to fulfill her father's expectations, and worrying about his mother's well-being, but she still has time to be a teenager and live the romance all over again. I loved her friendship with Jason and I hope I can read more about him, I also loved the way she faced Brendan and became dominant in the most important moments, and his bizarre friendship with Rocco was one of the best things in this book.
Brendan, unlike Ayanna, was born on the right side of town, has always had power and privilege, and is in control of Eastview & Westview. Brendan is a boy who had to grow up hastily after the death of his parents, his constant concern is the well-being and safety of his younger sister Lillie, he has the support of his friends: Rocco, Zane & Gunner and together with them he runs the city. He's a complex character, who hides things, even from his best friends, he doesn't have that tender and adorable side that usually does that I fell in love with the male characters, but he shows very clearly his feelings for Ayanna and the important people in his life, which made me love him anyway.
One of the things I enjoyed the most in this book was the relationship between Brendan & Ayanna, I think there is a very real attraction and hatred between them, at least in their first interactions, in addition to the mystery , secrets and misunderstandings of the past, that make everything very confusing and interesting. I loved reading a Brendan always true to her personality, who cared for Ayanna and made her attraction and desire evident, but didn't behave softer or different with her, and Ayanna? I love that she's so stubborn and determined not to fall for Brendan's game again, but at the same time that she can't help it because of her curiosity and need for answers, but best of all was the way the mystery is solved between the two and the conflicts that arise throughout the book, and since Leslie mentioned that this wouldn't be the end for them, I am looking forward to reaching the end of the series so that I can read them again as protagonists.
As for the plot, I have to say that up to the middle of the book I had my doubts, because there are very confusing situations that are not fully explained, however, I have the feeling that this is intentional and everything will fall into place once the series progresses, or so I hope because I'm really intrigued. The amount of lies and discoveries may not be impressive, but the weight that these have in the lives of the characters is what is really important, as well as the consequences that these revelations will have in the long term, since the end and the epilogues were really amazing, and although I was expecting something more shocking as a cliffhanger, I can't deny that I'm VERY interested to know what is going to happen to the boys, the city and who will be the next to have their story.
And finally, I don't want to miss out on how incredible the supporting characters seemed to me: Lillie, Gunner, Rocco, Zane & Jason were a perfect complement to the story, with different but very interesting personalities and plots, which, despite being a mystery still, I have the feeling that they will be even better than Brendan's due to their personalities and personal issues, which is why I can't wait to read it, and from now on I have to say that I hope Gunner & Lillie have a chance.

Estaba un poco nerviosa con este libro ya que Leslie V. Walker compartiรณ que serรญa una especia de presentaciรณn al mundo en el que se desarrollarรญa la historia de los Westview Heartbreakers, y aunque la trama es un poco confusa y deja mรกs preguntas que respuestas, creo que ella hizo un excelente trabajo presentado a sus personajes, cautivรกndome con la trama, sus misterios, secretos, revelaciones y la historia de amor entre Brendan & Ayanna.
Para empezar, me encantรณ que el misterio estuviera presente desde el inicio, creando mil dudas y teorรญas sobre lo que pudo haber pasado entre Brendan & Ayanna para que ambos terminaran odiรกndose mutuamente, pero tambiรฉn sobre quiรฉn es รฉl realmente, quรฉ es lo que Ayanna descubriรณ y quรฉ ocurriรณ en el campamento de verano.
Vicious Desire estรก contado en su mayorรญa desde el punto de vista de Ayanna una chica que vive en el lado equivocado de la ciudad pero que tiene la "suerte" de estudiar con los chicos privilegiados, ella es un amante del horror, considerada rara por muchas personas, y atacada debido a su origen, es una chica amable, que ve lo bueno en las personas y empรกtica con los demรกs, Ayanna odia a Brendan debido a situaciones del pasado, pero se siente atraรญda hacia รฉl en igual medida, algo que no puede seguir escondiendo cuando sus caminos vuelven a cruzarse de manera inesperada.
Una de las cosas que mรกs me gustรณ sobre Ayanna fue su personalidad, creo que es un chica sencilla que atraviesa por situaciones complejas, tanto en su casa como en la escuela, estรก constantemente intentando llenar las expectativas de su padre, y preocupรกndose por el bienestar de su mamรก, pero aรบn asรญ tiene tiempo de ser una adolescente y vivir el romance de nuevo. Su amistad con Jason me encantรณ y espero poder leer mรกs de รฉl, tambiรฉn amรฉ la manera en la que ella se enfrentaba a Brendan y se volvรญa dominante en los momentos mรกs importantes, y su amistad bizarra con Rocco fue de las mejores cosas en este libro.

Brendan es un chico que tuvo que crecer de manera precipitada despuรฉs de la muerte de sus padres, su preocupaciรณn constante es el bienestar y seguridad de su hermana menor Lillie, tiene el apoyo de sus amigos: Rocco, Zane & Gunner y junto a ellos dirige la ciudad. รl es un personaje complejo, que esconde cosas, incluso de sus mejores amigos, no tiene ese lado tierno y adorable que suele hacer que me enamore de los personajes masculinos, pero demuestra muy claramente sus sentimientos por Ayanna y las personas importantes en su vida, lo que hizo que lo amara de todas formas.
Una de las cosas que mรกs disfrute en este libro fue la relaciรณn entre Brendan & Ayanna, creo que entre ambos hay una atracciรณn y odio muy reales, al menos en sus primeras interacciones, ademรกs del misterio, secretos y malos entendidos del pasado que hacen que todo sea muy confuso e interesante. Me encantรณ leer a un Brendan siempre fiel a su personalidad, que se preocupara, por Ayanna e hiciera evidente su atracciรณn y deseo, pero que no se comportara mรกs suave o diferente con ella, y Ayanna? amo que sea tan testaruda y este determinada a no caer en el juego de Brendan de nuevo, pero que al mismo tiempo no pueda evitarlo por su curiosidad y necesidad de respuestas, pero lo mejor de todo fue la manera en la que se resuelve el misterio entre ambos y los conflictos que surgen a lo largo del libro, y ya que Leslie mencionรณ que este no serรญa el final para ellos, estoy deseando llegar al final de la serie para poder leerlos de nuevo como protagonistas.
En cuanto a la trama, tengo que decir que hasta la mitad del libro tenรญa mis dudas, pues hay situaciones muy confusas y que no se explican del todo, sin embargo, tengo la sensaciรณn de que esto es intencional y todo ira cayendo en su sitio una vez que la serรญa vaya avanzando, o eso espero porque estoy realmente intrigada. La cantidad de mentiras y descubrimientos puede no ser impresionante, pero el peso que estos tienen en la vida de los personajes es lo realmente importante, asรญ como las consecuencias que estas revelaciones tendrรกn a largo plazo, pues el final y los epรญlogos fueron realmente sorprendentes, y aunque esperaba algo mรกs impactante como cliffhanger, no puedo negar que estoy MUY interesada por saber quรฉ va a pasar con los chicos, la ciudad y quiรฉn serรก el siguiente en tener su historia.
Y para terminar, no quiero dejar pasar lo increรญbles que me parecieron los personajes secundarios: Lillie, Gunner, Rocco, Zane & Jason fueron un complemento perfecto para la historia, con personalidades diferentes pero muy interesantes, y tramas que, a pesar de ser un misterio aรบn, tengo la sensaciรณn de que serรกn aรบn mejores que la de Brendan debido a sus personalidades y problemas personales, por lo cual no puedo esperar a leerlo, y desde ya tengo que decir que espero que Gunner & Lillie tengan una oportunidad.

Vicious Desire is a dark romance full of mystery and suspense. This is Ayanna and Brendan's story and it's only the beginning of the Westview Heartbreakers series. Ayanna and Brendan have a history, and it's clear from the beginning that there are a lot of secrets and lies that have come between them. As their lives once again become entangled, they'll face even more deceit and drama.
This is a quick read, but it packs a punch. There is a lot going on in this book, so much so that I sometimes felt like I was being pulled into too many directions at once. I had a bit of struggle connecting with these characters, maybe because there seemed to be so many of them introduced. I felt like I really didn't get to know any of them too well. I liked the chemistry between Ayanna and Brendan though, and I do look forward to getting to known Brendan's group of "brothers" a bit better in future books.

3.5 - 4 Stars!
As soon as i stumbled across a post about this book while scrolling through social media I instantly started looking forward to it! I added it to my TBR List quickly. I enjoyed this first book!
Brendan and Ayanna's journey isn't an easy one. I really liked how these two got my attention. I wasn't sure what to expect in this story which had me into it even more. I enjoyed the fact that i felt many things with these characters! I just struggled a little bit at certain points.
With Vicious Desire, Ms.Walker has created a good debut! I am looking forward to more from her in the second installment in the Westview Heartbreakers world!

Great start to a new thrilling series!
I really enjoyed Brendan and Ayannaโs story. It started off slow but then picked up steam as it progressed.
Itโs filled with angst, drama, hatred, emotional turmoil and all kinds of romantic suspense that will keep you captivated and entertained throughout. Lots of secrets, betrayals and little twists slowly get revealed and will keep you on edge.
I enjoyed the story and I look forward to reading more in the series.

This debut novel by Leslie is a wonderful surprise and grabs my intrigue from the start! Not only is the cover eye-catching but this is my favorite genre, enemies to lovers and even better it has some mysterious twists weaved throughout the book.
This book offers a fantastic group of characters, an interesting plot and I am looking forward to seeing more by this author!

I think Leslie wrote a wonderful story and the chemistry between the main characters is a gem. Any excuse is good to see them interact and the mysteries that the story is solving become more and more dangerous. This is her first novel and I think she has a wonderful talent and a great vision. I canโt wait to read her next book.

This was an enemies to lovers AND a romantic suspense, which are two romance sub genres that I love when incorporated.
Vicious Desire is all about Ayanna and Brendan. Brendan is the king of the school, while Ayanna is the girl from the other side of town, attending the more prestigious school. And after one shared night four years ago, the two despise one anotherโฆ
But it isnโt just about a couple of teenagers who hate each other even if they canโt deny the attraction they feel to one anotherโฆ this is about secrets and lies and family drama. So much family dramaโฆ and itโs fantastic.
Brendan and his best friends, his brothers, are dark and dangerous. I loved them all so much. I love the way they protect what is important to them. I love how they interact.
If youโre looking for a book with deep-rooted dark secrets, a group of guys who are not scared to get their hands dirty, this is for you.

Vicious desire is the first book I have read by Leslie V Walker but most definitely will not be my last . Being that I had never read a book by Leslie before , I was not sure what to expect going in . But I loved every single second of this amazing book . This is the perfect start to what is going to be a great new series . Itโs enemies to Lovers with many unexpected twists and turns throughout the story . I can only say that I ended up devouring this book in a little under 4 hours .from the moment I met both Brendan and Ayanna I was so intrigued and invested in both their characters . The chemistry between these two is off the charts , not to mention all the back and forth , the angst , the steam , and many emotional moments as well . Itโs the perfect combination of everything that makes a great romance

Ayanna is such a relatable character sheโs the girl from the other side of the tracks and is attending this upper class school whereas Brendan is already the king of the school and runs ishโฆ These hatred these two have for one another bleeds through the pages as well as their undeniable attraction to one another. But there is so much more going one than just two kids hating each other no there are lies, secrets, drama all twisted together in this dark and dangerous story. I have so many questions and canโt wait to get some answers because I have a feeling we have barely scratched the surface..
