Summary:
Coordinate and implement overall project related activities in the district by maintaining communication with all the relevant government stakeholders. Keep proper communication and coordination with the other project technical staffs and partner organization to ensure the organization’s standard of service.
The position is assigned to Pathfinder’s Bangladesh দিশারি (“Dishari”): “Advancing the Leadership of Women and Girls towards Better Health and Climate Change Resilience” project in Bangladesh. It is a four-years Climate Resilient Project that aims to Women and girls in low resource settings have reliable access to quality health services and communities and health systems are resilient to future shocks.  That is to build the capacity of women and communities to become more resilient to the impact of climate extremes in Bangladesh, especially on Climate Change & Disaster, SRHR, Health and Nutrition, WASH, Gender & GVB, adaptive Livelihoods.

Key Job Outcomes:

  • Ensure project Implementation: Implementation of project activities, according to quarterly and annual workplan in the respective district in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain professional relationship with GOB counterpart, project technical team members and partner's relevant staff and upholding Pathfinder’s values and code of conduct while implementing the project activities timely in a facilitative/ supportive mode
  • Internal & External Coordination: Organize and facilitate regular coordination and review meetings with employees and the stakeholders including DGFP, DGHS and DMCs of district and Upazila level as required. Responsible for arranging and facilitating workshop/training/meeting and any other outdoor program as per project requirements.
  • Project Management and Participation: Active role and participates in cross-functional project teams.
  • Community Relations: Liaises with local government bodies, GOB officials specially DMCs of district and Upazila level and community teams for cross cutting issues and to ensure integration. Collaborates and networks with key stakeholders closely with selected teams to promote all the activities at facility and community level.
  • Monitoring, Documentation and Reports: Process monitoring to ensures quality, reliability, and timeliness of events/Activities with performance reports on programmatic compliance activities/events, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

 

Minimally Required Job-Specific Competencies:

  • Program Knowledge: Must have commendable knowledge on SRHR, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Resilience in Bangladesh. Knowledge of the health and climate change nexus, particularly related to individual, community and health system adaptation and resilience to climate shocks will be value adding.
  • Government structure: Must have clear understanding about district and below level government structures and disaster management committee.
  • Local government system: Clear understanding about the local government system and its role in implementing resilience programs, disaster management activities, Health and Nutrition, FP services and SRHR, Livelihood, WASH activities.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to present information effectively to small groups.
  • Training and Development: Ability to develop and deliver training to small and large groups.
  • Teamwork: Must have clear understanding about teamwork and be able to play individual role effectively.

Minimally Required Organizational Competencies:

  • Software Applications: Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Languages: Proven ability to write and speak using Bangla and English language.
  • Communication Advanced oral and written communication skills, Ability to prepare and write reports.
  • Multi-tasking Skills: Ability to manage multiple initiatives at the same time and work cooperatively with multiple partners.
  • Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as a member of the team, ability to thrive in a matrix organization, ability to be detailed-oriented, and ability to manage stress effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Foundational knowledge of family planning and reproductive health principles, practices and services of programs, including program strategies and indicators, and the latest professional developments in SRHR.

Minimally Required Education, Training and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health/Disaster Management/ Climate Change or related discipline, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies
  • 5 years’ experience in project implementation and management preferably climate resilience related experience funded by an INGO in the field
  • Prefer: 4 years’ programmatic experience in field offices/ district level

Other Information:

  • Extensive Travel required; must be willing to travel in public transportation
