The Role:

The DRM Specialist will be a technical lead of implementing project(s) under DRM programme in Rangpur Divisional Office (RDO). The jobholder will be responsible for close technical oversight, strategic guide, networking, ensure quality assurance and action as well as ensure donor compliance specific to implementing project(s). S/he will be responsible to design, develop and review strategies as well as different communication materials, training manuals, guidelines, tools related to implementing project(s) under her/his portfolio. The DRM Specialist will also be responsible to organize, facilitate and coordinate staff level trainings (TOT) on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA), and humanitarian response. S/he will work in a team for developing/adapting implementation standard (M&E framework), monitoring and supervision mechanism, advocacy and networking initiatives at divisional level. S/he will work closely with BCO DRM team both for quarterly and annual programme/project(s) reporting requirements. Provide technical direction and support on implementing project(s) to partner. Undertake field visits and provide on-site technical assistance to field staff for quality implementation of project(s) activities. The jobholder will maintain close coordination/functional relationship with BCO DRM team, Gender and Inclusion Advisor, as well as respective colleague of Protection and Education team (both at BCO and at Divisional Office) to have technical guidance - so that Child Protection and Education in Emergencies embedded in the implementing project(s) interventions in a gender transformative way.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual with a Master’s Degree preferably in Disaster Management from a reputed University. Demonstrated experience of key practice and standards e.g. SFDRR, Red Cross/NGO Code of Conduct, SPHERE and its companion guides (Child Protection Minimum Standards and Minimum Standards for Education Preparedness, Response and Recovery and the CHS). Significant field experience of managing DRR and CCA, and humanitarian response projects. Sound knowledge about gender and safeguarding issues and able to conduct gender analysis in project implementation and evidence gathering. Excellent facilitation skills together with highly developed interpersonal communication and negotiation skills is a must.

Monthly consolidated salary range for this role is Tk. 90,000.00 to Tk. 120,000.00 (may vary based on experience) along with other benefits i.e., Life Insurance and Hospitalization Benefit and Festival Bonus.
