Diving into Amos 3:7
Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He first reveals it to His prophets.
Should You Enjoy Hebrew Word Studies.
Surely כִּ֣י the Lord אֲדֹנָ֥י (a·do·nai) (Yah·weh) does יַעֲשֶׂ֛ה nothing לֹ֧א Unless כִּ֚י He reveals (uncovers) גָּלָ֣ה (ga·lah)

The Hebrew Hieroglyphics Sense
(prophet plural} of Amos 3:7 is a picture of the seed buried inside the fruit. The word (ne·vi or nebi) is a metaphor in the hieroglyphics sense concerning (the examination of the seed to see if it is true or false, good or bad or represents a different kind of fruit altogether than what the outside appearance made one to believe. This seed is revealed by a test of (observation and examination) to see if it is true to its kind.
The Hebrew Word Sense
In other words, the navi-im suggests that just because one may declare to be God's prophet does not validate that they are in fact God's prophet. More proof is required than a business card with a title attached to a name.
The Seed Represents A Contrast Question?
Does the message truly represent who God says He is? and is the seed (in this case, the one speaking the message of God) truly reflect the Nature and Character of who God is in the message given through the prophet. Or does the seed found inside the prophet, spoken from the mouth of the prophet represent a different kind of fruit altogether?
Does the true seed actually represent God; What He has said in the past concerning Himself and truly reveal the Fullness of His Nature, Who He Is? His Eternal Purpose and Will or is something other revealed after careful examination???
(Since the context addresses the identity of the messenger {specifically, His (Servants) messengers, the prophets} speaking on the Lord's behalf. "This is what the Lord says."
I know that some have implied more pertaining to (nevi {bubbling from within} prophet and the {ho'eh, hozeh seer} kind of prophet). We have not studied that out, so that is not what we are addressing at this time. Our intent is to simply transcribe the Hebrew hieroglyph in it's picture form and the Hebrew word sense so that all may better understand the text.
The Test
This picture hieroglyph infers a question?
Is the prophet true or is he false? So, before taking a bite of the fruit, first examine what kind of seed is on the inside or you may find that your bite reveals a unexpected kind of fruit never intended for your consumption.
To The Reader.
This short essay does not pertain to the Holy Spirit, edification, exhortation and comfort, gift of prophecy to/in the local church but the Office of the Prophet standing to give direction to the church of Jesus Christ at large in as each season arises.

They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”. . . . {The seed is implied in the word planting in this text}.
The Contrast Metaphor of the False
Fruit Never Intended For Our Consumption.

but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Ancient Hebrew was first written in Hieroglyphics or picture form, a kind of ancient sand-script. Later the Hebrew alphabet was developed transcribing into a word form with specific definitions rather than a long complex picture sentence form.
Giving rise to a sense inscribed by evaluating the older previous picture form of a text and including it into the definition of a single word. In the Ancient Hebrew text every symbol had a meaning. Alaph represented an Ox. Byt a House and so on. The word elephant (alaph-phant) literally means a Big Ox. Even the names of Hebrew children often were in fact sentences. In the alphabetical letter form the symbolism or definition is greatly shortened into a single word. Each word takes on the meaning of what was once an entire sentence but now continues to maintain the sense of the original longer picture form meaning.
