Our Minister of Defense and our Deputy Minister of Defense are currently working to revert our military to the way it was prior to FNR's acquisition of TMO. The hijacked account has not been returned to Indo-Malaysia, but FNR has since made peace with Indo-Malaysia. It is understood that Crystalsummer's actions do not reflect the values of The Free Nations Region, and The Free Nations Region does not endorse what occurred during the TMO negotiation.

Crystalsummer has also decided that due to their actions, it would be best if they leave The Free Nations Region and quit NationStates altogether. Crystalsummer has given the password to their nation to our President, Heaveria. From this point onwards, Heaveria will be maintaining the Crystalsummer nation, and they have assumed the responsibility of being the region's new Founder. This will allow us to avoid having to refound our region and potentially expose ourselves to raiders. This decision was made by the entire moderation team of FNR.

We would like to reassure all citizens and residents of The Free Nations Region that nothing in our region is going to change. Yes, Crystalsummer will no longer be present in our region. Yes, our military no longer owns The Midnight Order. But everything else will remain exactly the same as it always has been. We are still the friendly, welcoming, and enjoyable region that we are renowned for being!

There's a reason why TMO retracted the statement because even if we wanted to give him his nation back we can't. Even after the agreement was signed. Crystal still had full control over the TMO founder account and he still has that. We never asked for the founder region's account because Crystal was our founder after all. We would however still like Crystal to return the nation because it is something that doesn't belongs to him. We did everything we can in our control.

You write that CS took control of that founder nation to gain an upper hand in negotiations with Indo-Malaysia. Given that you haven't returned control of that nation to Indo, it appears that CS was successful: Indo is more incentivized to negotiate with you, and you have an additional bargaining chip in this founder nation.

Your words say that you are very displeased with what Crystal did, but your actions seem to say that you are happy to profit from what Crystal did.

If you really do believe that what Crystal did was wrong, the appropriate thing to do would be to give up the benefits from his actions: return the nation to Indo without any strings attached as a show of good faith. I hope that you will consider this.

Let me make this very clear!! I founded this nation!! I dare you to ask the moderators, and they can tell you the samething. I am owner of this particular nation. Just to show proof I’ll file a GHR to settle this!! I gave you what you wanted! You got FNR, my 5 years of work, and I’ll give you everything else while we are at it!! I’m not giving up anymore of my work! I spent countless hours designing these factbooks.

It's a grey area in cases where a nation was known to be shared because you share nations at your own risk. Not going to hand out any warnings though, because this seems to have stemmed largely from a mis-assumption rather than any ill-intention.

There is no evidence on our end that the nation "Midnight Order Founder" was ever shared with Indo, nor that the nation was actually stolen. Whether or not Crystalsummer stabbed Indo in the back in 'selling out' the region that he was founder of is for the community to argue, but there was no nation theft involved in the process from what I can see backstage.

Founder Transition

Due to the recent chain of events as evident in this NSGP forum, there has been a founder transition. This has already been iterated, though, due its significance we would like to mention it again. The former founder, Crystalsummer, decided to leave FNR and abdicated the foundership to the current President, Heaveria. The then "de facto" group of leaders had no objections and therefore Heaveria will serve as permanent Founder of FNR. A quote from the regional Discord:

Late Nite Festival

FNR was an official partner region in a multi-regional cultural event, The Late Nite Festival. Others participatory regions were, Thaecia, Force, India, The East Pacific, Kingdom of Great Britain, New World Union, and Europia. This festival was one of the largest cultural events in the history of Nationstates. The festival had a wide variety of events like minecraft, hunger games, strategy games (like Diplomacy and Mafia etc), io-games, card against humanity etc. The event was a huge success.

The Consortium + N-Day

The Free Nations Region joins The East Pacific, The Glorious Nations of Iwaku, Thaecia, The Kingdom of Great Britain and Force as one of the founding regions of the Consortium. This alliance will focus on R/D, Diplomacy, World Assembly and Culture. President Heaveria have played a major role in the foundation of Consortium. More information regarding Consortium will be posted later.
The Consortium has announced ATOMIC. It’s very own N-Day Faction/alliance, in which FNR will be a primary member. We are asking all regions that don’t have any plans for N-Day to join the alliance, especially our embassies. See more information and a list of participating regions on the regional page.

Successful Recruitment Championship

This month, the Minister of Immigration, Emaha has organized a recruitment championship. The winner would be the nation with the most recruits and the highest conversion rate. The winner was My Nation with 11 nations (0.82% success rate), runners up being Gufand and Narvatus, with 2 recruits each(Gufand having 0.51% success rate while Narvatus had 0.22%). In third place Oimatsu and Orvos with 1 recruit each(0.13% and 0.07% of success rate respectively). Unfortunately, the others weren’t as lucky.

Foreign Affairs Update

The Free Nations Region has closed many embassies throughout the last month, the biggest one being The Allied Republic, after it was revealed that they have fostered fascist sympathizers. Along with this, another embassy closed was Allied Conservative States, due to a proposal of a merger with The Allied Republic. While other embassies were opened, 2 of the biggest ones were The Rejected Realms and Thaecia.

South Pacific Liberation

On 2nd August the combined forces ofThe Black Hawks as well as Balder, Caer Sidi, Europeia, Hartfelden, Hydra Command, Karma, Lone Wolves United, Social Technocratic Union, The Land of Kings and Emperors & United Kingdom. Seeing this huge forces of regions occupying the South Pacific, the defenders formed a civilian militia to tackle the raiders. Some Civilians of The Free Nations Region also participated in the liberation attempt. The participants were Slaughter None, Gullyslanarmaing, Oimatsu, Republic of Arstotska and Lerasi along with FNDA soldiers. The Free Nations Region Government applauds the participation of everyone in this operation.

Appointment of Deputy Ministers

As instructed by President Heaveria, the cabinet members have appointed their deputies. The Deputy Ministers who were appointed are as follows:

• Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs: The New Roman Protectorate
• Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs: Firsthaf
• Deputy Minister of Immigration: Orvos
• Deputy Minister of Defense: Oimatsu

The Job of a Deputy Minister would be to assist the Minister in completing the tasks assigned to them by the President while taking over the Ministerial Duties during temporary absences.

ATOMIC and the N-Day

ATOMIC (Alliance To Obliterate Many Inferior Contenders) finished this N-Day in 18th place Although the results weren't as good as the last year (when the we were part of ORAL who came in 9th place), we started this N-Day attacking Layem and levelled them eventually. The Potato Alliance called on ATOMIC for assitance in their battle against the Horsemen of Apocalypse. ATOMIC was the first faction that went up against last year's N-Day Winners, Horsemen. ATOMIC was eventually heavily targetted by the Horsemen of Apocalypse after Potato. The region, along with the others in ATOMIC, merged with Augusin Alliance. With the AA, after a multiple rounds of heavy bombing to HoTA, made it go down to last place, with help of An Alliance of Potatoes and Ba Sing Se. AA made it to the first place. In the last few hours, An Alliance of Potatoes approached top leaderboard, but it wasn’t enough to go to the first place, with the Augustin Alliance getting first place in the event.

Cultural Events

September saw a surge of Cultural Events in the Free Nations Region. We had a lot of Cultural Events they have helped increasing our regional activity. Thanks to our Culture Minister, Castenor. The region partook in a lot of fun events this month such as:

Pax Patronus

The Free Nations Region has signed "Pax Patronus" with the Coalition of the South Pacific. This treaty is based on Non-Agression, Mutual Recognition and Cultural Cooperation between both regions. President Heaveria is looking forward to a fruitful relationship between the South Pacific and the Free Nations Region. Meanwhile, President Heaveria and Minister of Foreign Affairs Gufand, have also submitted the Treaty of Santiago de Chile with The East Pacific. The treaty is currently in vote awaiting approval from the Legislative Assembly. More information about the treaty will be released in the at or before the next update.

Promotion Ceremony

On 16th September, Minister of Defense Sargon Reman awarded promotions to the hardworking soldiers of the FNDA. The soldiers who received promotions are as follows:

Regional Elections

Q4 2020

As part of the FNR democratic process, the regional General Elections were held. The races up for grabs were President, Speaker and World Assembly Delegate. The President and Speaker races were uncontested with no incumbents in both. For President, Sparsdan won with 71.1% of the vote (33 votes); while Sargon Reman won the speakership with 69.6% of the vote (32 votes). The World Assembly Delegate was the only contested race, with Galali challenging the incumbent Narvatus. Narvatus won re-election to his second term with a close 54.3% of the votes (25 votes), in second place Abstentions, with 23.9% of the vote (11 votes), and in last place Galali with 21.7% of the vote (10 votes).

Coming up are the Ministers Elections! On October 29th voting will start and the counting will be underway at the time this update is released. Currently, there are 3 candidates that officially launched their campaigns, Doctors Orvos for Minister of Immigration (Incumbent), Oimatsu running for Minister of Regional Affairs, and ASEAN Maharlika for Minister of Internal Affairs.
The retirements of this entire election process as of now are the following, My Nation (was elected as Vicepresident alongside Sparsdan), Sargon Reman (now former Minister of Defense), and Castenor (Minister of Culture).

Justice Appointments

and resignations!

Now former president Heaveria had submitted two Justice nominations for the court, following the drain of it during the previous election process. The following justices were appointed:

• Thaelle / Dyl (former Vice-President under Heaveria and TGBN)
• Emaha (former Minister of Immigration)

Both justices were confirmed by the Legislative Assembly. Due to the vacancies in the Ministry of Immigration, the Deputy MoI, Doctors Orvos assumed the position for the remainder of the term with legislative confirmation.

"The two justices were selectively chosen for their experience and long-term dedication to FNR. Dyl (Thaelle) has served on numerous courts alongside me. I understand his legal thinking and committed devotion to impartial and steadfast procedures. In addition, both Dyl and Emaha have been apart of this region for long time. Having worked with both of them, I have come to recognize both their dedication and general behavior. Therefore have no doubt about the ability of them serving on our supreme court."

Tigerania / Drehtisch has decided to resign as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court after serving for a dedicated three years! He cited resigning as a means to focus on his passions of "developing and maintaining current and future FNR services like our Discord Bot, Wiki, Forum, Election/EVC Platform, and so on." (court-announcements) Tigerania will continue to proudly serve the region as the Technical Administrator and Bot Developer.

The court has unanimously elected The United World Organization (Wolf) among themselves as the new Chief Justice.

and the Mongol Hoarde!

The Mongols have risen from the dead for a unimaginagely large apocolapyse! Ikh Khagan Sparsdan, in collaboration with Noyan Castenor (Lerasi), has ordered the region from the Khanbaliq to embrace zombies and to horde other nations, with the objective of reaching the top 10. The region focused on attacking those who were researching a cure or exterminating zombies. After a long day of fighting against survivors, the entirety of the region was had been overrun with mongol zombies, no survivors were left alive. Embrace the hoarde!

and Inter-Regional Events

The FNR was invited to The Liberty Gala, an inter-regional cultural event in which several defender regions were invited. Also a game night was scheduled between Thaecia and the FNR for Saturday October 24th. Fun rounds of Among Us were played with a disco session.

and the Consecutive Population Growth!

The Free Nations Region has seen the one of the largest growths in WA nation populations for the third consecutive month. Since the start of former President Heaveria's term, the average growth has been 4.6%. These statistics come from NationStates Today's "The Shift". In both August and September, FNR grow the most in WA nations out of any region. In the month of October we continued to stay strong in top 5 regions in regards to growth, with our friends at Thaecia reaching a whopping 12.5% growth. Heaveria was also able to have a quote put in the article, representing the FNR.
