The San Joaquin Pride Center's Transgender Affirming Garment Program was created to assist transmasculine, transfeminine, and gender non-conforming folks who desire gender affirming binders, packers, breast forms, and tucking underwear to obtain safe and reliable garments. This application is to determine eligibility for a free or discounted garment through the Garment Program.
Chest binders are garments that are intended to compress breast tissue in order to create a flatter, more masculine appearance.
Gaffs or Tucking Underwear are garments meant to help minimize the appearance of a crotch bulge and can help transfeminine women or anyone with a penis who is looking to achieve a smoother, more affirming appearance of their pelvic area.
Packers are a prosthetic or other object placed inside someone's pants to create a bulge and achieve the look and feel of having a penis.
Breast Forms are prosthetic breasts that some transfeminine and gender non-conforming folks choose to wear underneath their day-to-day clothing.
PLEASE NOTE: For individuals who cannot fit the garments in stock, they will be measured to find a suitable cost-efficient alternative. The final cost of the alternative garment will be calculated on a sliding scale.
Eligibility: You are eligible to apply if you live within or near the Central Valley California* AND if any of the following applies to you:
- You are 13 years old or younger, AND have a parent or guardian to apply for you, AND experience financial hardship, cannot afford the cost of a garment, or cannot otherwise obtain a garment yourself, AND live within or near the Central Valley, California
- You are 14-18 years old, AND live within or near the Central Valley, California
- You are over 18 years old, AND experience financial hardship, cannot afford the cost of a garment, or cannot otherwise obtain a garment yourself, AND live within or near the Central Valley, California
*The Central Valley includes the following counties: San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Madera, Fresno, Kings, and Kern. Applicants that live outside of these counties
but are still able to access transportation to the San Joaquin Pride Center are encouraged to apply.
Even if you do not think you meet the eligibility requirements listed above, it is still recommended that you complete an application anyways. The Pride Center is always willing to be flexible and work with you.
Please note: For individuals applying for the garment program who are 13 years old or younger, you MUST have a parent or guardian complete the application on your behalf.
