About Garmentier

Garmentier is a quickly growing Fashion + Technology startup based in Chicago. We have created the first all-in-one online platform for Stylists and Personal Shoppers to start, grow and scale their businesses.

About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us at Garmentier. You'll be the anchor of the team going forward, and will be looked to as a domain expert from day one. We're looking for a generalist, full-stack engineer that has a product-focused mindset about software engineering and is organized, thorough, collaborative, and is seeking to take a leadership role on an tech team.

As for your day-to-day, you'll:

• Work directly with the executive team to help scope out, architect, and help to build new features in our current product offering at all levels of the software stack (from the UI down to infrastructure)
• Make key choices about our technical stack depending on the problem at hand, pragmatically. For example, we work primarily in Ruby on Rails (with React.js for some UIs), but you might discover that a Python service is appropriate for a particular feature
• Have a key voice in shaping how our engineering process works as the company continues to grow
• Support our existing products and systems, and continuously work to improve their reliability through monitoring and well-tested code

As mentioned previously, you don't have to be an expert in each of the tools we use to build Garmentier, but it will be most helpful for you to walk in the door with knowledge of at least a few of these skills in your toolbelt:
