Hi <<First Name>>,

Please read all of the information here carefully to ensure you arrive at the right time and know how to reach your start line.

If you have any questions that are not answered in this information, details of how to get in touch can be found at the end of this email.

Before Race Day

Think about your training and what you should eat and drink in the 24 hours before the event. If you've not trained as well as you hoped, be prepared to take it easier, particularly for the first half of the race.

Plan your journey carefully - travel information for getting to Draycote Water is below.

When you've attached your number and you're completely ready to run, head towards the start area - follow signs towards the Visitor Centre.

Getting to Your Start Line

We'll make announcements asking you to prepare to run and move into the start area shortly before the race.

From the registration area, the 10K start line is a 5-minute walk North East along the upper path, walking with the front of the Visitor Centre behind you.

The Half Marathon start line is a 15-20 minute walk, behind the visitor centre and towards the South West corner of the reservoir.
General Course Information

The course is mostly on tarmac pathway, but some parts may be more gravely and loose underfoot.

The service road that you run in is not closed to traffic. Very few vehicles use the road and anyone driving along it during the race will move slowly behind you and only pass if it is safe to do so.

Please remember that you are sharing the pathways with pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.

The course is marshalled, signed with arrows and kilometre (10K) & mile (HM) markers.

The 10K Route

From the start line on the upper pathway, you will head north along the reservoir for around a kilometre before a sharp hairpin bend to the right, continuing south along the reservoir on the lower perimeter road. After passing the race village you'll complete one further full lap of the reservoir to return to the race village.

View the 10K route map here.

The Half Marathon Route

From the start line on the lower road, you will head clockwise around the reservoir, passing the race village after approximately 3.5 miles. You'll then complete two further full laps of the reservoir to return to the race village.

View the Half Marathon route map here.

Water Stations

There are two water stations at half way points around the water, firstly at around 1 mile on the Half Marathon route and 2.4K on the 10K route, and then every 2.4 miles.

We'll also have water ready for you at the finish line to take with you.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome and can watch from anywhere on the course. The Visitor Centre will be open serving refreshments.

After the race

When you've recovered, collect your medal, water and snacks from next to the finish area, and don't forget to collect any belongings you've left with us.

Any lost property or left belongings will be kept for one month.
