Abstract: A comprehensive survey on college English teaching in 530 Chinese universities was conducted by the National Foreign Languages Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education in 2009—2010.This paper reports the findings of the survey,and discusses some key issues concerning the future development of college English teaching in China.
