The survival title Rust is still a hit, on Steam over the past 30 days there were still an average of almost 73,000 players on the servers and fought together — and against each other — for survival. But despite all the popularity, there are still some areas in which the developers of Facepunch see great potential for improvement, which is why the studio has released a major update, which is mainly dedicated to the graphics.

Fresh look for a better feel

The developers have been working on the update for several years, and expectations are being raised accordingly. The game should even feel different after the makeover. In line with these big words, there is also a video that offers a first foretaste of the result. Facepunch seems to be very convinced of their own work when they say:

“This is the culmination of the team’s work over the past couple of years. It improves the feel of the game a lot and, in our opinion, gives it a fresh look.”

But the pimped up graphics won’t be the only change gamers can look forward to. Construction has also been simplified, because bushes now automatically disappear and simply reappear elsewhere. If you want to create an additional opportunity to get even more scrap, you should pay a visit to the scrapyard, where there is now a crane that transports vehicles into a shredder. Last but not least, there is of course the obligatory batch of bug fixes.
