Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University has been ranked among the best universities in the country by the authoritative Times Higher Education. THE World University Rankings 2022 placed St. Petersburg Polytechnic University in third place in Russia (our university shared it with the Higher School of Economics). SPbPU also maintained a high 301-350th place in the world.

It is worth noting that SPbPU is above the world median in all criteria that this ranking uses. Our university demonstrated the greatest achievements in industrial income. They allowed us to rise to 137th place in the world for this indicator. The university also entered the top 200 in the citation indicator, which reflects the impact of research. Polytechnic University showed the best dynamics in the sphere of research and development, having added 30 places in the world ranking for a year, including at the expense of intensive growth of the number of publications and income from research activities in the years taken into account.

The presence of Polytechnic University and MPTI in the top three Russian universities reflects the fact that Russia is strong precisely for its engineering and physics school. Our leadership in the field of industrial income underlines the engineering specialization of the university. Thanks to new initiatives, including the development program built up this year, our expanding contacts with the leaders of Russian industry, such as ROSATOM, UEC, Rostec, we expect to be among the world’s top 100 by this indicator in the coming years, says RAS Academician Andrey RUDKOY, Rector of SPbPU.

The applicants who decided to enter our university this summer have received one more proof that they did the right choice. The ranking confirms that education and science at the Polytechnic University are of world quality. It is gratifying that this year we managed to grow in most indicators, including reputational ones. This means that Polytechnic University is becoming more and more known around the world, commented Maria Vrublevskaya, Head of Strategic Planning and Development Programs at SPbPU.
