Free clothing closets, school supplies and furniture Salt Lake County.

Locate free free clothes, household furniture, school supplies or personal stuff and other items in Salt Lake City and County Utah. Low-income families and people with no money will often be given what they need. There are bargain thrift stores and free voucher programs too. Find free clothes or furniture near you in Salt Lake County

A number of charities and churches help low-income families. There are also items like furniture (couches, beds, etc.) for a new home or appliances as well, including a fridge or washer. Or get, free school supplies as well as uniforms, computers,  diapers, and so much more. Non-profit clothing closets, free furniture banks and other organizations provide goods to people across the community. Low income families in Salt Lake may receive free items or vouchers while more moderate income residents may be required to purchase their items at a local thrift store.

The clothing and other items distributed tend to be gently used but higher quality. Thousands of families receive goods from the centers every year and the locations will help people from having to decide to spend money on clothes, diapers, backpacks for students, work attire or other critical bills. Many Salt Lake City area centers offer other items as well, such as employment assistance, baby clothes, formula, and they may administer special Christmas programs and free gifts for children.

St. Vincent de Paul/ Weigand Homeless Day Center/Catholic Charities

Has limited amounts of direct help for needs such as clothing, diapers, and other personal needs. May also have food or money for utility bills as well as legal counseling. A small free furniture bank is on site too. When a homeless person moves into a home, free furniture such as couches, kitchen tables, or beds may be provided.

Utah Dream Center

They help college students in Salt Lake, and in particular undocumented and/or DACA kids. Accepts donations from the community and will resell the goods to low income and struggling families. Students may get free school supplies, clothes, sneakers, boots and referrals to tuition services too.

St. Therese Of the Child Jesus Catholic Church

Crossroads Urban Center

The location assists and organizes disabled, low income, and minority Utahns to help them meet their basic survival needs. This can include clothes, free baby formula, holiday items and more. May also coordinate job training. Elementary to high school age students can get notebooks, free back to school supplies, calculators, and so much more.

Salt Lake City Deseret Industries
The locations are a non-profit vocational rehabilitation facility and thrift store. People can both donate new and gently-used merchandise and also purchase quality, inexpensive goods for their children and families. Some families may be given free vouchers to pick the stuff they need, even including furniture or general use clothes.

The homeless and transient can get clothing, food, and counsel. You will need to agree to volunteer in order to get assistance from this clothing closet/center. Dresses, slacks, sneakers, shoes, and more items are given from the free clothing bank.

Goodwill

They are part of Goodwill stores, which provide vocational training and employment services for people who are unemployed due to educational or vocational disadvantages as well as individuals with physical, developmental or emotional disabilities. They give out free work clothes to job seekers, people look to improve their financial/income, veterans and low-income.
