Saturday from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania launched

After creating a lot of buzz across social media platforms to promote the song, Saturday Saturday from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was finally launched on YouTube last weekend. The song was simultaneously unveiled on the dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa. The song has already crossed four lakh views on YouTube. Interestingly, the song was already quite popular with the youth and the original song video has crossed two million views and lots of additional likes across social media platforms. It was when director Karan Johar was looking for a peppy number for this film, he came across Saturday Saturday sung by Indeep Bakshi and Badshah on YouTube and immediately got them on board. The film version has been composed by Sharib Toshi, Badshah and Titans. The lyrics of this version are penned by Kumaar and Badshah, while singer Akriti Kakkar joins the duo behind the mic. The energetic number has an excellent pace and works really well as a party anthem. The hookline, Saturday (which keeps repeating throughout the song) is catchy. The Hindi meets Punjabi lyrics matches the vibe of the song and we love how the singers have crooned the number. After hearing it repeatedly, the song is bound to grow on you.

Ek Villain

Yet another slow, contemporary offering from the Ek Villain album. Awari, sung by Adani Dhool and Momina Mustehsan, is a haunting number with a slow pace. The composition does not have the typical use of sound that you will get to hear in other slow, emotional numbers. The original composition was crooned by Dhool alone, with powerful backing vocals by Asfar. In the film version, the use of acoustic and bass guitars, eclectic and drums is different, but excellent nevertheless. We like how the sound loops from these instruments have been mixed beautifully with electronic beats. Dhool’s voice is soulful and he does perfect justice to the number with his unique voice. Mustehsan too creates magic in the portions that she has sung. The lyrics by Adnan and Rabi are wonderful and touch your heart.
