Celtic Knot Granny blanket completed

The pattern includes suggestions for designing your own version and extensions plus instructions for a join-as-you-go sequence to emphasize the background/foreground, over/under nature of the design. Also a colouring sheet that includes the join-as-you-go sequence.

Any hook and any yarn can be used but those listed below are most suitable.

DK/Light worsted yarn, a 4 – 4.5mm hook and four rounds should give a square with a diagonal width of about 4 inches. Increasing the number of rounds to 5 or 6 should give a square with a diagonal width of that number of inches.

The blanket shown was made with four rounds.

Aran/Worsted yarn, a 6 – 7mm hook and three rounds should give a square with a diagonal of about 4 inches.

It is about the right size for a snuggle blanket or as a bedcover for a 3ft bed.
A border is not included but a pre-border round suitable as a start to adding a border of your choice is included.
