Good Practices of Indigenous Women against COVID-19 and Impacts on them
*Deadline to participate is June 10, 2020.
From the International Indigenous Women's Forum (FIMI) we observe that the pandemic caused by COVID-19 is increasing the inequality gap that impacts the lives of Indigenous Peoples and Indigenous Women. To face this crisis situation that requires urgent action, the Indigenous communities and Indigenous women have implemented collective actions. For this reason, FIMI seeks to document the reality that Indigenous women live in their communities and in urban areas.
Also, we observe that the methodologies for generating international, regional and national data on the effects of the pandemic do not reflect the reality of Indigenous peoples and Indigenous women in regards to the situation that violates individual and collective rights.
For the reasons described above, we open this global collective consultation to Indigenous Women's organizations and Indigenous Women leaders to share their good practices. The results of this survey will be systematized as evidence of the impacts generated by Covid-19 in the lives of Indigenous Women and their strategies to deal with it.
