TERMS OF USE - MORE DETAILED DESCRIPTION

1. PERSONAL DATA:

I agree and authorize PC PLUS d.o.o. (Lokev 5C, 6219 Lokev) and its authorized persons to store and process my personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act (ZVOP-1) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the purposes of carrying out and benefiting from the activities of PC PLUS d.o.o.

PC PLUS d.o.o. will handle your personal data carefully. You can cancel your consent at any time by notifying us by sending a message to plusclimbing@gmail.com. We will stop processing your personal data no later than within 15 days from the objection. We also provide you with insight into your personal data, their correction, deletion, changes and a copy of your personal data in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data.


2. HOUSE RULES IN SPORTS HALL CLIMBING CENTER KOPER AND RULES FOR SAFE CLIMBING IN THE SPORTS HALL AND ON THE OUTDOOR CLIMBING FACILITIES OF THE KOPER CLIMBING CENTER

Climbing on the artificial walls demands the right knowledge, responsibility and following all safety measures. In order to avoid any unpleasantness and accidents. There are rules that have to be obeyed and followed by every visitor (climber) of Climbing Center Koper. Violating the rules can result in losing the right to use the climbing walls / boulders.

1. All the participants are obliged to follow the rules of safe climbing and ensure their own safety as well as the safety of all the other climbers. In case of underage climbers, the responsibility falls to their parents or caretakers. Each time you visit the center, you have to identify yourself with a valid ID or membership card.

2. Sport climbing presents certain hazards and risks. By signing the terms of use, the visitor commits to knowing, understanding and accepting the risks and possible injuries that may be a result of activities, like making an error at safety measures or falling down while climbing. This applies for climbing on indoor boulders and on the outdoor climbing facilities, and includes fractures, abrasions, bruises and other injuries. For example, climbing holds can become loose or even break; in all cases that arise from the nature of sport climbing, the organizer bears no responsibility for any injuries or even death. The organizer promises to review the climbing walls regularly and amend any faults and defects. 

Every climber is required to do their climbing activity in a way that doesn't put the safety of others at risk. Everyone climbs and protects at their own responsibility and will be held responsible for any damage they may cause to the organizer or a third party while climbing.

PC PLUS d.o.o. is not responsible for any injury (or loss of property) suffered while participating in club activities, using equipment and sports fields, for any reason whatsoever resulting from the ordinary negligence on the part of the PC PLUS d.o.o., its employees or the club official. 

I hereby release and covenant not to sue PC PLUS d.o.o., it’s owners, it’s employees, or instructors, from any and all present and future claims resulting from ordinary negligence on the part of ŠPK Plus or others listed for loss, damage, or theft of personal property, personal injury, or death, arising as a result of using the facilities and equipment in the Climbing Center Koper  and engaging in any PC PLUS d.o.o.  activities incidental thereto, wherever, or however the same may occur. I hereby voluntarily waive any and all claims resulting from ordinary negligence, both present and future, that may be made by me, my family, estate, heirs, or assigns.

In case the user of the climbing facilities notices any defect or deficiency on the climbing wall (loose, damaged and unattached holds, damaged anchor point, damaged belay system, damaged rope, etc.), he/she is obliged to immediately report it to the staff of the Koper Climbing Center.

The user of the outdoor climbing facilities must fully understand the written rules of safe climbing on the outdoor climbing facilities of the Koper Climbing Center. Otherwise, the climbing facilities must not be used.

In the event that any of the climbers notice any kind of fault or defect on the climbing wall, they are obliged to report it to the organizer.

I affirm that I am of legal age and am freely signing this agreement. I have read this form and fully understand that by signing these terms of use, I am giving up legal rights and remedies that I might have now or in the future.


3. Climbers have to take care of the cleanliness and hygiene. There are changing rooms and toilets in the hall for you to change.

4. Climbers have to use clean climbing footwear or sports shoes. It is forbidden to climb barefoot or in dirty shoes.

5. It is forbidden to interfere with climbing walls in any way, including moving the sets or climbing holds.

6. Please do not be too loud in the sports hall where the climbing wall is located and do not disturb other climbers.

7. Every visitor is required to treat the climbing walls with care. Do not use more magnesium than it's necessary. After you're done climbing, pick up your trash. 

8. During the boulder climbing, the climbers should adjust the falls to their knowledge, capabilities and health condition. Falls should be controlled and safe. If there is another person below you, boulder climbing is strictly prohibited.

9. While boulder climbing, the climbers should not use a climbing harness.

10. Personal coaching is not permitted without prior agreement with the organizer. 

11. In cases of negligent and improper conduct, when a certain climber threatens their safety or the safety of others, the organizer can prohibit them from further climbing.

12. Visitors that don't intend to climb are forbidden to enter the pillow area.

13. Organizer does not hold the responsibility for forgotten or stolen property.

14. It is forbidden to bring food and alcoholic beverages into the hall.

15. Smoking is not allowed in the sports facilities.


OUTDOOR CLIMBING FACILITIES

First visit and use

On the first visit and use of the outdoor climbing facilities of the Koper Climbing Center, each user must fill in the Declaration form for the use of the outdoor climbing facilities fully. Without adequate knowledge of safe climbing and belaying, it is not allowed to climb independently on the external climbing facilities without the supervision of a person who assumes full responsibility for safe climbing and belaying.

Under 16s may only climb on the outside facilities if accompanied by a parent, climbing instructor or coach or other responsible adult. 

Young people between the ages of 16 and 18 may climb independently on the outdoor climbing wall only if they hold a Sport Climber title certified by the Sport Climbing Commission.


Equipment, safe climbing and belaying

  • The use of a climbing rope is obligatory.

  • The equipment (rope, climbing harness, belay devices, quickdraw) used by climbers must be manufactured to the appropriate standards and properly maintained.

  • A double check (knot on the harness, correctly fastened harness, correctly fitted belay device, correctly installed rope in the belay device, knot on the free side of the rope) is obligatory before each climb.

  • Rope must be clipped-in correctly in the quickdraws.

  • Climbing and belaying without footwear (barefoot) or in dirty footwear is forbidden.

  • Climbers should never climb when another climber is above or below them, and climbing over each other is forbidden.

  • It is necessary to keep sufficient distance between climbers; there must always be at least one route clear between climbers.

  • Long hair must be pinned up because of the risk of hair getting into the belay.

  • The belayer shall be belaying standing up. All attention must be paid to the climber being guarded.

  • The belayer must choose the correct belaying position (maximum 2.5 meters from the climbing wall). The belayer must not be belaying with too large arc on the rope.

  • Until the fourth quickdraw is clipped-in, the belayer should be guarding right next to the wall, out of the potential fall line.

  • It must never happen that two ropes are clipped-in at the same belaying point.

  • Care must be taken to ensure that the belaying devices are handled correctly.

  • The belaying devices must be clipped-in to the appropriate place on the harness (maneuvering loop).

  • Descending should be slow and steady. Rapid descent is prohibited.

  • Intentional swinging on the rope is prohibited. 

  • As soon as the climb is completed, the climbing rope must be removed by pulling out the end of the rope closer to the wall. It is the responsibility of whoever removes the rope to ensure that no injury to anyone occurs by a falling rope.


Climbing methods

  • Top rope.

  • Lead climbing.

  • Climbing on self-guides on the speed wall.

  • Top rope belaying is only allowed at the top of a route via an anchor point or in the middle of a route if the anchor point is made at two fixed points, otherwise mid-route belaying is not allowed. 

  • At the top of the route, both belays must be engaged.

  • When climbing on top rope the climber shall climb on the end of the rope that is clipped-in to the quickdraws on the wall to prevent swinging in the event of a fall.


Under the climbing wall and intervention on the wall

  • Any interference with the climbing wall, moving of climbing sets or climbing holds is prohibited.

  • It is forbidden to linger, run or jump under the wall. 

  • No objects may be placed under the climbing wall.


Verification of competence to ensure safety

At any time, a qualified person from the Koper Climbing Center can check the users of the climbing facilities to demonstrate the necessary knowledge to use the climbing facilities safely. Anyone who disagrees with the check or who shows a lack of competence and the required climbing knowledge must immediately stop using the outdoor climbing facilities.
