Saturday 11 December 2021 at 9.30am

Event Hub: The Last Drop cafe, adjacent to ArcelorMittal Orbit, E20 2AD

Hi <<First Name>>,

We're looking forward to welcoming you back to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park for the December edition of our monthly 10K, back in our favourite location next to the ArcelorMittal Orbit.

There will be a number of COVID-safe measures in place before and during the event, which includes a main start time of 9.30am but with the start line remaining open until 9.45am for those who'd prefer a more relaxed and spacious start.

Please read all of the information here carefully to ensure you arrive at the right time and are prepared for all of the changes and health precautions.

If you have any questions that are not answered in this information, there are details of how to get in touch at the end of this email.

Download the NHS COVID-19 Test and Trace App

You will need to scan the check in code as you enter the registration area using the NHS Test and Trace app where possible.

Donwload it from the App Store for iPhone, or the Google Play app store for Android devices.

Finding us in the South Park

The Last Drop cafe, 5 Thornton Street, E20 2AD

If you've ran with us earlier this year, you might be familiar with our north park location near Here East - but we're back using our favourite location in the south of the park for this month.

Arrival

Number pick-up will be open from 8.30am.

As you enter the event area, you'll need to scan the NHS Test and Trace QR code with your smartphone if you have it.

Registration

At number pick-up, you'll be asked to confirm your details before collecting a race number and safety pins.

Once you have your number bib, move to the preparation area to complete the emergency details on the reverse and attach it to the top you'll be running in.

Toilets

Toilets will be available inside The Last Drop building - please wear a face covering if you can.

Bag Drop

Please bring as little as possible with you. A supervised self-service bag drop facility will be available.

The Race

This new course was introduced in July 2021 to allow for new building works, and is slightly different to our 10K course you may have completed previously on this side of the park.

Marshals and signage will ensure you can run safely.

The course is made up of three identical laps. You'll pass through the start / finish line on each lap.

After your third lap, you'll be ushered off the course into the finishers' area.

You can view a course map here or download a gpx file to import into your own device or mapping tool.

Water Stations

There will be one water station on the route that you will pass three times. It will hold 250ml sealed sports cap bottles that you will need to help yourself to. Slow down to grab a bottle and please only dispose of in bins around the course.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome and can watch from anywhere on the course. The cafe is open throughout and you'll find a huge choice of food, drink and shopping nearby.

Finish line

Please follow the signage and marshal directions when you cross the finish line.

Once you've had a moment to recover, you will be required to keep moving through the finish funnel into the one-way system.

Your water and rewards, including your medal, will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself to.

Once you’ve loaded yourself up from the rewards area don't forget to collect any belongings you've left at bag drop.

After the race

Once all runners are finished, we'll send you an email with a full set of results and a link to view the official race photos.

Share your race day selfies and stories with us @race_organiser for a chance to win free race places for any of our 150+ events throughout the year.
