Description
Pax Viking Official Module
In Pax Viking, each player represents a Jarl, a powerful leader in the Norse culture, whose family has grown strong over the course of centuries. It is now a pivotal point in history and an opportunity to unite many Jarldoms into a unified country. Using a trade network in the east, powerful allies in the west and smart tactics, you may prevail as the first king of Sweden!

Pax Viking is a strategic and historical tile game for 1-6 players aged 12 and up. It is a game of trade and diplomacy in the 10th century. The game highlights those Vikings that travelled eastwards, towards the rich trade routes of Persia and around the Black Sea.

These Vikings were skillful opportunists in the matters of silver and axe, ready to wield whichever worked best in any given situation. They shared an adventurous explorer ethos with the westward travelling Vikings, and reached far to the south and east. They formed many strong alliances, influenced societies and founded future empires on their way.
The future is in your hands, or maybe, your purse.

Includes scripted setup, updated artwork...

Future Updates:
-Scripted setup of turn order and starting cash.
-Scripted setup of win conditions. (Randomize Shuffle and discard etc.)

@Samuelw It was when I re-subscribed and then tried the Balanced mode, which we then used. I will check out the Starting Deck mode soon. Thanks for this module!

@nenomeme Thanks!
I fixed the starting deck. (Some cards didn't get the 2p/3p descriptions in the last asset update from ion Games. Should be fixed.)

Was it setting up the saga deck for the other modes (instead of starting deck) when using the setup script?

I just got my game in the mail & am trying to play with friends remotely. The setup options seem to leave all the saga tiles off to the side regardless of the number of players and setup chosen (trying for Starting Deck in this case). Do you move the Saga deck to the top of the column and then hit some other button? If you do that and then hit the Refresh Saga Track button it does set up the board, but all 218 cards are still there in the Saga pile, not a subset...

@Vanilla. Thanks for the great troubleshooting. I've fixed the setup button.. 6->1->2->... Sorry for the confusion.

@Samuelw, when cycling through player counts on the scripted setup tool, after 6 it goes back to 2 but when pressed again it still shows 2. That's because the first 2 is actually a 1, so when you select it and press Setup, confusingly, the solo setup is created. Took a bit of trial and error before I realised what was happening. The first game (two player) I just gave up and manually setup

It is a cool idea. Snapping is either on or off by default. (Coding to switch it is not something I want to work on.)

I instead turned off sticky instead. If you drop the new ship on top, and pick up the bottom one, it won't lift the others. Not perfect, but much simpler.
Alternatively, you can place the 2nd ship in the upper 2/3rds of the tile and it shouldn't snap.

Fantastic mod! Thanks!
Just a suggestion, what about disabling object snap for the longships when they enter the main board area? When people try to place multiple longships on a location, they tend to snap to the center and then tumble over each other.

Great question. For game rules, I'd recommend posting on the ion Games discord or BGG.

Cool
I was mainly curious on a Event where everyone must do something. i.e. remove a venture in the East.
Player order could affect player decisions.
We ended up going with random.

Events must be taken into your hand as a buy (for silver) or invest action. During the action phase you can then play an event if you have a ship at the location. I'm not sure when multiple events would trigger at the same time, but asking on the ion games public server might clarify questions better than I can. Hope you enjoy the module. like and subscribe.
