Exciting new project from Communicare

What is your favourite cake?
Victoria Sponge?
Chocolate Brownie?
Fruit Cake?
Or something else?

As a child I used to love rushing home from school to find that my Mum had that morning made and placed into the fridge to set, delicious, beautiful, tasty rectangular chunks of tiffin.
The raisins, golden syrup and thick layer of chocolate always whetted my tastebuds. Who here doesn’t love a big slice of tiffin?
Sadly 17 years ago, when I moved out of my parents’ home, the tiffin was no more, despite me returning on occasions and checking the cake tins in hope, the tiffin had disappeared!

Don’t feel too sad for me, however, as we at Communicare have some VERY EXCITING news to share with YOU, our wonderful volunteers and supporters!

We the charity Communicare will be taking over a bakery!

Yes that’s right. We will be purchasing the Love Cake bakery in St James Road, Shirley. The bakery will be renamed: COMMUNIBAKES!

If I can ask you to take your mind off your favourite cake for a moment. Let me share why we Communicare are taking over this bakery:

The profits we believe the bakery could make will go to Communicare to help continue and grow what we do.
This bakery has been successful the last 7 years, we believe we can build on this success due to the potential this bakery offers.

We want to put cake at the heart of the community.

Over the next two weeks, we would like to give you the opportunity to get involved. Please read below to find out more.

Crowdfunder

On Friday 7^th May we will be launching a crowdfunder to raise £5,000.

This money will enable us to expand what we can offer at the bakery. With the £5,000 we will purchase:

Hot food counter (So the bakery has hot food options)

Hot drinks machine (Real coffee!)

To overall smarten up the bakery

Over these next two weeks, we will be sharing social media posts and various other forms of communication about this crowdfunder.
Can we please ask each of you our wonderful supporters if you would:

Tell people about this bakery, word of mouth makes a HUGE difference.
If you are on social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram), please share our posts, let people know what we are doing.
On our launch day (7th May) please consider making a donation towards this. Whatever the size of the donation it will be hugely appreciated.
