At the webinar experts will share their experience with transitional justice and recovery using the example of Syria, particularly in regards to the dilemma the country is facing: what should be the priority - humanitarian recovery or administration of justice and prosecution of those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity. The post-conflict scenario is largely determined by this choice of priorities, which is very important for Ukraine to understand. The speakers will also comment on the latest high-profile trials in Europe regarding war crimes in Syria and on Russia’s role in the war, as well as discuss efforts aimed at promoting sanctions.
