Un-mothering explores belonging and separation. Mother is our first home, who then brings us into this world.

According to the French philosopher Anne Dufourmentelle, contrary to the image we mainly have of the mother, this figure is intimately linked with loss and abandonment.

It's this loss that "Un-mothering" tries to address by examining the maternal bond and the way we live or survive our mothers.

The artist uses found family archives as a backdrop for her soliloquy, which is calligraphed on every image.
