I really dig this Organic Part 2# painting by German artist, Jolina Anthony. It looks like a collage, but it is actually a mixed media-painting. Its got acrylic, oil, gesso, chalk and graphite to be specific. Though it does look like there is a cut out of some type.

I love the composition, the colors and especially the texture of this piece. The rectangles are strewn about very carefully and it almost looks like a face in the bottom right one. It has a very industrial look to it.

I just learned the difference between collage and mixed media recently. Mixed media is just that, a piece composed of different media. A collage has things pasted on. Collage means to paste, or stick in French.
