About this event

Join us for our kickoff to Women's History Month as we bridge the gap between Black History Month and Women's History Month with Unladylike.

Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin describe themselves as journalistically trained, research-addicted feminists who make digital media about all things gender. They believe by better understanding our unique identities, diverse lived experiences and underlying injustices, we can claim our space and make more room for others as well, which is integral to Unladylike mission: to make inclusive, credible media that moves. In addition to hosting the Unladylike podcast, in 2018 they published their social-justice self-help guide, “Unladylike: A Field Guide to Smashing the Patriarchy and Claiming Your Space.”

Their virtual keynote will combine both Black History Month and Women’s History Month, focusing on the intersection of the feminist movement, #MeToo, and the Abolition Movement, with a historical discussion of how feminism and white womanhood has pushed up against racial equity through present day with the Black Lives Matter Movement.
