Hi <<First Name>>,

Thanks for entering The Regent's Park 10K, part of the monthly winter series hosted by local running club The Mornington Chasers.

There will be a number of COVID-safe measures in place before and during the event, which includes a main start time of 09:00 but with the start line remaining open for a few minutes for those who'd prefer a more relaxed and spacious start.

Please read all of the information here carefully to ensure you arrive at the right time and are prepared for all of the changes and health precautions.

If you have any questions that are not answered below, details of how to get in touch can be found at the end of this email. You can also join the Facebook Group

Before race day

Think about your training and what you should eat and drink in the 24 hours before the event. If you've not trained as well as you hoped, be prepared to take it easier, particularly for the first half of the race.

Plan your journey carefully - travel information for getting to The Regent's Park can be found below.

Finding us in Regent's Park

For this event, at the request of the park we have moved over to the more spacious Cumberland Green, just off The Broad Walk.

The race hub, registration and start/finish area is opposite The Broad Walk Cafe or The Espresso Bar, NW1 4NP or use the What3Words location.

We recommend you use the TFL website to plan your journey, to ensure you have the most up-to-date information. You can find further information on the park website.

Arrivals

The run start time is 9.00am but with the start line remaining open for a few minutes for those who'd prefer a more relaxed and spacious start.

Arrive from 60 minutes before the start. We'll be ready for you from 8.00am.

On-the-day registration is available. Do you know someone else who would like to take part? Bring them along!

As you enter the registration area, you'll be encouraged to scan the NHS Test and Trace QR code with your smartphone if you have it.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Please do not attend the event if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

Or if: you've tested positive for COVID-19

  • this means you have the virus
  • someone you live with has symptoms or tested positive
  • you've been told to self-isolate following contact with someone who tested positive

There are of course, lots of different rules and exceptions around self-isolation now, so please check the NHS website to make sure you are following the correct rules for your situation.

We will still be putting in extra hygiene measures around the event site and there will be other elements that haven't completely returned to normal in order to allow you to ease back into racing in a crowd. Details of these can be found in the race information below.

Please follow signage and marshal instructions and be patient with each other, as well as us.

All of our event plans have been written following RunBritain guidance. They have their own Guide to Participants, available on their website, which we would also recommend that you read before arriving at the event.

Registration

At registration, you'll be asked to sanitise your hands, then confirm your details before collecting a race number and safety pins.

Once you have your number bib, move to the preparation area to complete the emergency details on the reverse and attach it to the top you'll be running in.

The park toilets on The Broad Walk will be available throughout the event. There is a 20p charge to use the toilets which accept contactless payment only.

Bag drop

You can leave any clothing, bags, keys and phones at our bag drop. Your race number has a tear-off strip on the bottom that should be attached to anything you leave with us.

The Race

The race starts promptly at 9.00am.

We'll make announcements asking you to prepare to run and move into the start area shortly before the race.

The course is all on tarmac pathway and made up of three laps.
