Although honestly, in many ways One Piece is more impressive than Superman here, since Superman's 600 million is based on single issue sales vs collected volumes for One Piece. And of course One Piece has been around for much less time

The weekly waiting was not that painful to me since Sabaody arc 10+ years ago
When the final arc begins, I want to believe there will definitely be an even larger global desire to collect all of One Piece before the end.
But these types of things are hard to predict, so I'll say probably near the end of the decade.
Found out there's a shitload of bronze statues of One Piece characters in Kumamoto prefecture, close to where I live. There's a Nami one. I bet that its got highly polished boobs. Complete mistake to make them all bronze, really.
They got made as thanks for Oda donating for earthquake relief since that's where he's from. Probably also made to draw in tourist revenue too of course

That's interesting. Though, I would assume that they would try their best to care for the statues so it doesn't happen.
Same here. Great part of my life. It's nice that Oda has managed to still deliver quality after all this time, and it makes me hopeful that the ending arc or saga will be incredible.
We don't know the breakdown of this +10M update (is it +10M for RotW or for Japan)
But the last one, when it went from 480M to 490M, was in July 2021 and was an update on the RotW number.
Meaning the Japanese number up till now didn't include what was printed of volume 99 to 101/102 (if we are getting an update now, it likely means it includes 102's first print, as is usually the case. So imo, this is an update on the JP side of things).
Except that's 12M (3M x 4 volumes), not 10M.
And except that the RotW number also very very likely grew by +10M since July 2021.
And now consider that digital sales are still not included, and they have to be, at the very least, at 15M+.
So yeah, 500M is way under the reality.
But the last one, when it went from 480M to 490M, was in July 2021 and was an update on the RotW number.

I wonder if One Piece has a higher ratio of it's sales digitally, at least internationally?
You know with it's length and it maybe be hard to find the older volumes because they get sold out as soon as they can restock or out of print.

I wish we saw a split of international sales. Seems like recently (especially post Naruto ending) One Piece has gotten pretty big in the US.
