The last Argentine military dictatorship started on March 24, 1976 had a refoundational objective with two main pillars: the clandestine repression and the economic policy faced by the minister José Martínez de Hoz in the period 1976-1981. The latter was attracting various rejections and support from the main political actors of the moment, and the written press was a space of particular debate on the national economy. In this sense, it is that in this article we conducted an analysis that contrasts the editorial position of The Buenos Aires Herald and Clarín newspapers against the economic policy of Martínez de Hoz, taking into account that both morning papers represented two divergent positions that discussed each other: the liberal in the case of the Herald and the desarrollista in the case of Clarín.
